Pandemic and new free Software Instruments
After the last 24months more and more free stuff was generated by peoples, who still programm instead of being frustrated and beeing deppresed my opinion.
At all it´s a good time for professional music production with low. or no extra costs in software.
The last thing I discovered, just past me thirst, is Cardinal Modular 22.12 by kxstudios, as well their KX77 emulation is sounding greatfull, but it´s a little bit cpu heavy.
Also the free synths by Digital Systemic Emulations from 20years old french guy Valmont are especial fine instruments.
https://sites.google.com/site/digitalsystemic/home
But why i write this,
firstly i was watching for a Arp2500 emulation, but because i passed the Cherry Audios VM2500 sale,
i was searching and found this freebee ARP2500 Tonus Nineteen70 by coder K Brown, wich iss not a 1:1 emulation, like others!
I would say now i really don´t need this relativelly expensive Voltage Modular stuff,
of this old rich musicindustrial guys just joking in terms of their self understanding.
It´s unbelievebale how a unnamed linux programmer (should one guy start this? maybe), of the kx studio group are developing such a big big amount of classical synth emulations now as well in 64bit, at all for ALL COMPUTING PLATTFORMS, everyone else of modular comnmercial developers really sucks in this term, you could say!
If you try cardinal modular some modules are crashing, but at all VST2 works fine and if you only load the K Brown´s synth
emulations in R12.5, there are no problems.

K Brown download source https://ln.sync.com/dl/62c9b9f70/bbjda ... 9-q3tygvzs all plugs around 3,5gb

In this case, it´s not hard to understand i think, why more and more "commercial" distributors/coders are decide, to go out of business, also in terms of oversaturated plugin market, like NI now soundwide etc....
What are your free gems

I think the unbeatable free gem is Vital... Vital is depressing for the industry in a way , How can a synth with such a good sound, effect and workflow can be free is a joke...
Then you have Surge XT which is awesome also...
I tried Cardinal but it crashed for me... I'll give it another go...

The beauty of the VM2500 Modules is twofold. A) they're circuit modelled to sound authentic (almost guaranteed, the kx version is stock elements from their library of code slapped together and given a pretty UI). And B) the individual modules integrate into the VM interface. So for example, you can use their nice squelchy filter to process any other sound, or call up three instances of an oscillator. Also, kx chose to copy the matrix patching system of the original 2500, which is fine, until it comes to actually programming it. Have fun squinting!

After played around with Nineteen70 for 30minutes i´m a little bit sobered up, it´s takes quiet time to understand how it works, but it can produces resonances with the different osc´s paired with it´s sequencer , just a dream. The other 64bit plugs from K Brown´s list, are still much easier to handle and as well all of these plugs offers a lot, but there comes NO PRESETS with it, maybe that´s important to know for somewhat lazy people or just want to play instantly. So happy playfull times, for reaosances at all Murfa RE is a much easier way, but it´s just boring
