A new player by Retouch Control - looks interesting, I might have to give this one a spin.

• Drum Sequencer, Melodic Sequencer and Arpeggiator
• Generative Engine based on Conway's Game of Life
• Extensive Pattern Library in the Factory Soundbank

Oh yes, this caught my attention. Love the design and that it's based on 'game of life' :) Happy sunday!

- Yes it works in R10.
- All the included Combi patches are Combi 1.
- The sale will last until it's over lol.

Looks interesting, but I have a pet peeve about intro videos that walk you through the device without letting you hear what's happening

Extra peeve points for actually playing music that's unrelated to the visuals

hello,

i agree with dvdrtldg

i am interested in getting this RE
but without an actual 'how the device sounds' video

i don't trial RE because it messes with authorizing and signing on

the pdf manual is a great read and shows everything in a way i can understand it

just hoping for a different type of video before the sale ends please

cheers and eat well,

In the start of the video there are some patches shown with the corresponding sound.

it not really a device that 'has' a sound. it's an interface for nerding around with the game of life as a compositional tool. it can sound as robotic or emotive as you make it but there's no other RE like it

It's a Player; it all depends on what you connect to it and what you play with it.
Another "no brainer" Player ?

Just working my way through the manual.

Now I've got the edit short keys remembered 'Shift' 'Alt' and 'Cmd' the experimental side of this device is opening up more. Starting to get something that sounds half decent and some happy accidents also happening when using the X Y Z knobs too. It's worth getting a decent sound source hooked up before you start.

Can the X Y Z knobs be automated? I find I get the most interesting results from turning them.

It probably is good but it’s not for me. Just a load of diddle-idlle-diddle-eedle! as far as I got with it. Nature of generative I guess.

Yikes. Thought it's sad that there are no CV inputs, but at least I could automate it... Well... Bad luck than...

I prefer the Game of Death ideas coming from the ARPG 8, but Life is a nice concept too.
