Didn’t RS mention this Player in their roadmap? Where’s the image from?
Personally I think basslines are the easiest part of writing.. unless your doing some really busy melodies but even then it's not that hard... Are we at a point where we just push one button and a song is produced?
That happened years ago we are just waiting for more genres and Reason to catch up
If you don't have the money to spend on a bassline generator, just send your bassline-less project file over to WarStar; RT's very own, in-house Bassline Generator!

yes and soon most can't recreate their hits if they get deleted by accident

I hope it does slides and muting. Also this is a player remember, not an instrument. Also Bass Line is 2 words.

However... "sneak peak"?

Or subscription only! Wow!! Imagination the controversy 🤪
I was thinking more like mimic rather than sub only, if it's released as an RE then anyone on R10.4 and above would be able to use it unless it was released like mimic so you have to upgrade to use it as an included device like note echo or scales and chords are.
Well with any luck it should be out by xmas didn't they say?
Good point - I've been assuming that they'd release it as a standalone RE in the shop but perhaps you're right, they may choose instead to release it 'for free' to Reason 12 and Reason+ owners only, as an embedded device that's part of the next Reason 12.x update.Billy+ wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021I was thinking more like mimic rather than sub only, if it's released as an RE then anyone on R10.4 and above would be able to use it unless it was released like mimic so you have to upgrade to use it as an included device like note echo or scales and chords are.

Hope not though. Hope it is in the shop, as I'm sure there's plenty of Reason 11 and Reason 10 owners who would be interested in buying it - unless of course it's built using a new SDK which is Reason 12 only but which supports MIDI note bends...
On the flipside, I think it could be a smart move to release it as a built-in 'R12 only' device, included free with both the subscription AND the perpetual licensed version. This would definitely appease the 'early adopters' who bought R12 outright (and who, in some cases, were dissatisfied or frustrated with the various bugs and glitches.)rootwheel wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021Good point - I've been assuming that they'd release it as a standalone RE in the shop but perhaps you're right, they may choose instead to release it 'for free' to Reason 12 and Reason+ owners only, as an embedded device that's part of the next Reason 12.x update.

It would also, of course, be an incentive for more people to sign up to R12 or R+. If, as Rootwheel suggests, the new SDK allows for greater functionality, then it would be foolish for Reason to not take advantage of that in developing this new Player.
Furthermore, it seems likely that for a Bassline Generator to be at all 'cutting edge', it needs to do something significantly different/better than the stuff that can be achieved with PolyStep Sequencer or QNG. (I'm not a great fan of QNG, so improving on that wouldn't be too hard, imho.) It may be that whatever that secret ingredient is, it might be dependent upon a new SDK.
(Obviously, I'm saying all this as a R12 owner, so I've kinda got a vested interest in seeing it included as an R12 exclusive. If I was still on R10/11, I'd be vehemently arguing for the opposite. )
