Much more interesting to me: One of the video links at the end pointed to Komplete 12 being released October 1st.

From their website:
MASSIVE X
The next generation of the legendary synthesizer, featuring a breakthrough sound engine and a reconfigurable modular design – available February 2019 at no extra cost.

Maybe they're not finished to show much of its qualities yet...

Massive X looks a bit like Reaktor Blocks Bento Box.
Which also includes Kontakt 6!eusti wrote: ↑06 Sep 2018Much more interesting to me: One of the video links at the end pointed to Komplete 12 being released October 1st.

The S88 looks great. My cheap master keyboard needs a replacement.

So I didn't actually waste my money on the 50% discount they had not too long ago...MASSIVE X is an addition to the MASSIVE family, and will exist side by side with the original instrument.
If they'll be doing another "upgrades and crossgrades - 50% off sale" (for black Friday or cyber monday) I'll most likely go from K11 to K12U.eusti wrote: ↑06 Sep 2018Much more interesting to me: One of the video links at the end pointed to Komplete 12 being released October 1st.

That Massive X video made me... uncomfortable.
It will be interesting if they've gone full-on Reaktor Blocks with it, though.

Yes, that s88 looks very sexy and would look cute under my new audio desk. ;o)

I cringe at all the new Kontakt releases now, after Native Instruments converted over to native access for authorization of all third party plugins. I have a huge collection of non-serialized add-ons that I had to move into the factory library folder just to be able to use them from the library view. The alternative quick links view is a joke.

Hasn't it always worked that way? I don't recall Native Access changing that behavior. For the life of Kontakt 5 at least, the library view was always only for licensed libraries. You had to go to the files tab to see unlicensed 3rd party stuff. The quick load menu actually works great, but you have to set it up and organize it the way you want. Or are you referring to licensed libraries that you don't have serials for?ast3rix wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018I cringe at all the new Kontakt releases now, after Native Instruments converted over to native access for authorization of all third party plugins. No, it actually changed in version 5.6.8 before that you could just add anything and no I’m referring to just third party libraries that didn’t add the authorized native instruments model.QVprod wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018Hasn't it always worked that way? I'm hoping they have a decent upgrade price to MassiveX, since I bought Massive as a stand-alone product.
Years ago, I used to do the NI Komplete upgrades, but I've stopped. I found that there's SOO much stuff in there that I don't want, and to be honest it's just too overwhelming to install everything and wade through it. Less making music.
So now I just keep up-to-date on Massive and Reaktor, and that's it. I think price-wise, it's been cheeper to upgrade two individual products, rather than Komplete.

Native Instruments tend to have a summer sale where updates are around 50% off. Do they have any other usual yearly sales?
They won’t likely do an update sale until next summer.manisnotabird wrote: ↑14 Sep 2018Native Instruments tend to have a summer sale where updates are around 50% off. Do they have any other usual yearly sales?
Beautiful commercials, let's see whats in store in K12, im excited!
I see, Kontakt 6 still lacks in design in my opinion, well the sounds and engine are awesome anyway !

I hope they do as Black Friday and Cyber Monday are right around the corner. I think they know that a lot of us wait it out to get the upgrades at a big discount. I really don't understand why they don't reduce the overall cost to upgrade as we already have all of their software lot. This upgrade is no different they threw in some expansion packs and they upgraded Massive... so it doesn't really feel like a real upgrade if you already own ultimate.miscend wrote: ↑14 Sep 2018They won’t likely do an update sale until next summer.manisnotabird wrote: ↑14 Sep 2018Native Instruments tend to have a summer sale where updates are around 50% off. I really am eyeing that new S88 MKII, has anyone ever seen NI put hardware on sale during this time of year? Yes, I know it's about to be released... I'm being hopeful here trying to save a buck or two.
