Re: Complex from Propellerhead
Wow, what is this python framework you use that allows to access and randomize the RE parameters in real time? This is something I'm working on for some time now. It's almost finished. It is a remote coded based framework with some code generation inside, ultimately sending and receiving midi messa...

Re: Complex from Propellerhead
I am overwhelmed ... will have some playtime over christmas. I've just been throwing my REndmozier on complex ... need to create some meaningfull randomization rules first. But it's really nice doing random exploration. Here is a short 15 minute 'Let's REndomize' https://youtu.be/0tKaOFbvvck Wow, w...

Great initiativ by the Props and I am sure that this will be a high quality VST in the near future. But as it is now, it is buggy. It made my Live crash and I don't even remember last time that happened...

Re: VST counterparts of Reason devices?
Yes, Predator is a very good and versatile synth too. Still, I find the layout of thor a bit more clear and fun to work with - may be because I am more used to it.
I am not a great fan of Reaktor, but I may check the scream 4 replica there.
Thanks for your reply!

VST counterparts of Reason devices?
The last few years, I have been using other DAWs more than Reason, mainly because I find it difficult to manage large projects with a high number of tracks. However, playing around in other DAWs, there are a number of Reason devices that I often miss: Thor and Scream4 because of their fantastic bala...

Re: Is Respire still a thing or did they stop working on it?
I liked it back when I trialed it last year, but the UI was just too inefficient for me. Spire has the UI design equivalent of painting the first few words of a sign in really big letters, then realizing you're running out of space and cramming the rest of the words in at the bottom. I'd probably p...

Re: PSA: Akai LPK25 Wireless, LPD8 Wireless + Windows 10 = NO WIRELESS
As a Windows user, I miss wireless MIDI soo much. Using wireless mouse and (qwerty) keyboard has improved ergonomics so much for me. I wish it would be possible with MIDI keyboards too.

Re: Introducing the ES01 Analog Synthesizer: In the shop now!
I like the sound of it but somehow I get a feeling that it wouldn't be to difficult to get similar sounds out of Predator (which of course can do soooo much more...)

Re: Reason 9 sounds in version 10?
Is "Reason 10 sounds" the collection of all Reason sounds? I thought they where the ones specific to version 10. If not, shouldn't they just be called "Reason sounds"? Well Reason 9 sounds were a celling point of Reason 9 and all that they did, was including more sounds to this S/bank in Reason 10....

Re: Reason 9 sounds in version 10?
I think there's now just more sounds added to this soundbank but all the old patches are there still too. At least Grain and Europa patches are new. Reason 9 sounds in version 10?
Sorry for this probably very stupid question... I upgraded to v10 a couple of days ago. I just noticed in the browser that there is now a category "Reason 10 sounds" in the browser. I am sure there was a category "Reason 9 sounds" in version 9. What happened to this category when I upgraded to 10? I...

Re: Has VST support slowed down RE development?
But what do you miss? I own a lot of RE and iam pretty settled. I just wait for something really new... Innovative... There are many high end VSTs that don't have any counterparts in the RE domain. I can (and will) of course use the VSTs that I need, but I still prefer REs (integration, workflow, l...

Has VST support slowed down RE development?
I have not used Reason that much lately and I have not visited ReasonTalk either. Thinking about dive into Reason again. Now, when more than half a year has passed since VST support was introduced, for those of you who monitor the RE market, has RE development declined? (I think VST support is great...

Re: Battery powered audio interface?
There are the Zoom products, such as the H4n Pro, H5, H6, R8, R16, R24, F4, F8 I use the Zoom H5 for field recording. It has on-board mics (modular) and 2 combo inputs with phantom power. It also doubles as an audio interface. And when doing so, you can choose bus-power or battery power. I know the...

Re: Battery powered audio interface?
Another alternative to a portable recorder maybe an external power pack to run your USB device from. Some examples to fuel your thoughts; https://www.lifewire.com/best-portable-laptop-battery-4050506 Thanks for the tip, that may be another option. But then again, that's another gadget to keep track...

Re: Battery powered audio interface?
I have an H6. Using it today. I NeVER hook it to the computer. Why?? The computer is too noisy. Any of them - during recording (vocals) Recording straight from the H6. The room is quiet quiet quiet. I turn it on. A (soon to be dual) SM58 (for 4 mic recording), is plugged in to channel 3(/4.) I adju...

Re: Battery powered audio interface?
I don't use it for the overdubbing feature. I just use it for field recording and as an interface. So I'm not jumping through any menus for what I'm doing with it. You might want to consider the R series instead? If multitrack recording would be your main use on the unit... Well, it's probably easi...

Re: Battery powered audio interface?
You can do both. Recording on the H5 saves to SD card which you can then insert the SD card into your laptop if it has a reader or you can use the H5 as a reader (when you boot it up while plugged into your computer, it will ask if you want to use it as an interface or an SD card reader). https://w...
