Piano and Keys (started as a kid, i have some classical training), wind instruments (Lots of Flutes - also have some classical training in classical flute but lots of world flutes and the recorder, bagpipes, harmonica, melodica) including the EWI as a controller with reason, some percussions, a little bit of Cavaquinho (Portuguese grandfather of the ukulele). I know how to make a C, D, Am, Em, F and G in the guitar, so i guess i can play a bunch of songs in the guitar too.

I also learned the Euphonium (a smaller Tuba) when i was a kid, but thankfully, i forgot everything from that time!

Marimba you say?

As a band/orchestra percussionist I studied Marimba/Xylophone/Vibes and had an excellent teacher in college - but I just wanted to “rock” (and “record”) so I didn’t pursue that route. Plus, as well as I could sight read for drums I sucked at chromatic (pitched) notation and couldn’t sight read a marimba piece to save my life.

Had a great percussion partner in HS and we would play marimba duets for competitions – my favorite marimba duet was Bach Invention #8. Side note, she now is married to Danny Gottlieb (Pat Metheny) and they both play in Lt. Dan Band w/Gary Sinise). She could sight read perfectly so always covered the pitched percussion parts in concert band, as I hid behind the snare…

You learn such interesting things about the folks that hang out here!

Just piano/keyboards. I received the typical classical piano training as a kid and then moved on to keyboards when I was 19. I never graduated to associate level or anything (presuming it's called the same elsewhere as it is in OZ), I made it to grade 8 then stopped classical piano. I got pretty good at sight reading but when you start using piano rolls instead of notation for so long, your mind adapts to it imho.
I'd like to learn guitar, still, but I never get round to it. I find acoustic guitar to be very beautiful. I am not well enough to physically go and get lessons these days, but when I can afford it I think I will finally buy a guitar and try online lessons.
Maybe when I get around to selling my Virus Ti2/Nord A1R and a couple other tidbits, I will have some cash and might put it towards that and some CC debt.

In the past I played (mostly electric) guitar, which has been my main instrument. I've also played some drums and some basics on piano. However I don't actively practise or play these at the moment. Sure I may pick up the guitar every now and then, but I don't really do anything to improve my skills.
Last decade it's been all about making music on the computer for me, specifically Reason, which I view as an instrument as well.
However since the start of 2024 I've started playing ocarina, udu drums and tounge drums. So now it's those three and Reason that I spend my time with.
