Hi, this effect is for mastering purpose. The best results come when having it on the mastering section already at the beginning.
Then you'd just mix as well as you can. Basically taken, it enhances the sound and makes it easier to mix stuff without sounding "raw".
You need Reaper's ReaXcomp multiband compressor to be able to use it, get it here: https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
