Simple devices for onekey>chord\drone making (without appeal to sequencer) ?
Hi folks, just some thoughts from newbie about this.
As i see, need two simplest devices: One thing for note trigger (generate cv\gate "ON" permanently, by pressing to single button.) And second thing - single note to chord, with basic ability to custom noteset within octave.
Thing#1, i could imagine as exactly like this: https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... ote-stand/
Looks ideally, but i supposed that the "NOTE ON" button should be able to trigg via mouse (or combinator) with note generating respectively, but no, this is just indicator.
Do there is any similar ?
Thing#2, i could imagine as exactly like this by UI: https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... /tonerows/
I.e., we could select notes, and switch our notesets by buttons in left side, it's ideally.
But this device works via other way.
So, would be good to see any ideas about both needs.
Added:
I know that by point#2 there is some devices like this:
https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... /chordset/
https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... chordline/
https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... chordbank/
But speech about simple device that i described (i suppose that it quite could been free or more cheap, but the price is not problem ofcourse, the main factor in this case is simplicity, although I have nothing against complex devices, and strongly support this, but in this case the aesthetic moment, like minimalism ).

You can use the combinator's buttons to power 4 devices I guess, and use the rotaries to set those 4 notes : O
(or Thor, Europa, Grain and a buuunch more of the stock stuff. Slap an instance of Europa in the Rack, on env1 you draw a straight line up top, and send to CV1 via the mod matrix )
I'm not sure which device would be ideal for the chords, have you looked at Ivy Harmonizer ?
here: https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rack-extension/ivy/
also stuff like this is cool for building stuff like that: Arcus https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... ser-knobs/ or CV8 https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... generator/
Best of luck in your journey ; P

Sorry for late reply, thanks for info, will dig into it.mjxl wrote: ↑09 Sep 2019You can use the combinator's buttons to power 4 devices I guess, and use the rotaries to set those 4 notes : O

For example:
- Take this guy https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... generator/
- Assign buttons 1->4 to the first 4 rotaries.
- Put 4 Europas in the combobinator
- Take 2 CV wires from each rotary to gate/note on each Europa.
- Win the day.

I have a Drone Generator player device on my to-do list, one that basically generates a series of spaced "Note On" events (1-8) designed to be used with patches that use poly LFOs or looping envelopes to create ambient loops. Note offs are generated with sequencer stop or with an on screen button. I keep thinking someone will beat me to it, but maybe the market for this is extremely small?

Selig, yes i understand, ready to use device not a bad too, but frankly to say why i prefer mentioned way, i see every synth in Reason collection as complete drone generator (and this fact is updated as the described methods are found). I mean, more interesting is found universal dronisation way. In this sense would be cool if you would make described single button "note on" simple utility device (even in paid view).selig wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019I have a Drone Generator player device on my to-do list, one that basically generates a series of spaced "Note On" events (1-8) designed to be used with patches that use poly LFOs or looping envelopes to create ambient loops. Do it! We all need more drone, we just don't all know it yetselig wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019I have a Drone Generator player device on my to-do list, one that basically generates a series of spaced "Note On" events (1-8) designed to be used with patches that use poly LFOs or looping envelopes to create ambient loops. I used tape before I realized I could just play the notes then unplug the MIDI connector before releasing the notes. That's where I got the idea for a device that only played the "Note On" part of MIDI.
On my current live setup, I can do a similar thing with the Novation SL mkIII: play the notes, hit sustain, switch to another instrument. Works great for quick live drones, typically playing Peak in which I've programmed many patches for just this purpose.

That exactly what i asked for https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... ote-latch/
(The only thing, more notes would be good, say, 5-7)
But anyway thanks Enlightenspeed.

Dunno if its relevant here but connecting RPG-8 to a instrument and keeping ON switch OFF but HOLD switch ON will make it latch notes. It will re-latch news notes if new notes are played and it will stop latch if transport STOP button is pressed.
Yes i'm sure that there is many ways (incl that mentioned above) but the very sense was in convenience \ setup speed, can say in minimalist aesthetic.
You may also want to consider my AutoLatch device, it also supports latching although handles it different from NoteLatch: https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... midi-gate/
