Black Friday sales have begun, including discounts on Reason 10
I think it was on sale for $49 recently, wasn't it? I think the VK-2 sale price might be cheaper at $29, but I could be mistaken.

There are so many things on sale that I want to grab... do I resist ? Or do I surrender ?
Though I concur, it is pretty criminal not to get VK2 priced like it is. This synth imo should be close to double its original price!
Got tubetech last time it went on sale. Saves me so much time, the presets are surprisingly usable!
how long does the discounted upgrade price for Reason last ?

Ozone 8 advanced is now currently cheaper than the official price but I'd say iZotope may put a discount on the purchase on their site it at some stage!
Same with FabFilter.

It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!
I missed out on GForce ChamberTron for €25 as intro offer. Tested it and liked it, but still was 1 hour too late when going to buy. And now it is not on sale. If it goes for €25 again, I will get it.
Emotional Piano for €35 is tempting. Guess one can tweak Radical Piano, but Emotional Piano does have really well worth mellow presets and nice reverb. It can be a time saver to just have that cinematic sound straight away.
A-list Fingerpicking Nylon is €39. Been waiting on that one.
Thing is I have been and still is on the fence if going to subscribe €9/month or continue to buy them on sale.
Dont know what is most clever. Depends on if there are more on the way, then a subscription could be handy.

Some hefty, hefty discounts for Black Friday. Time to go shopping. For some time I've believed it wasn't worth buying an RE at full price because there is always a sale just around the corner. This now extends to the Reason upgrade itself!
OH wow, reason 10 upgrade is $99! I will buy it next week!

Hello! I present some findings here, in case they are of use to anyone else.
Broadly speaking, Reasonistas Sidechain can do everything Pump can do - though not quite as quickly/simply, because it's a much more powerful and feature-packed device. Pump can't do a lot of what Sidechain can do. But with Pump you can very rapidly audition a lot of different sidechain-duck envelopes to find your favourite flavour.
I get the "computer too slow" message with a combinator containing
- 1 MegaSaur
and either
- roughly 85 instances of Reasonistas Sidechain with the basic "ducker" default patch
or
- roughly 125 instances of Pump with the default ducker patch
So Sidechain is getting on for half again as CPU hungry as Pump.
Edit: For comparison, it takes over 1,000 M-Class compressors working as simple inserts after the MegaSaur to stop the computer. So if it's sidechaining CPU efficiency you're after, just use the M-Class. Pump isn't a CPU-saving alternative.
Sidechain is certainly the more useful RE. If you're a proper producer who actually makes music (i.e not me), there's definite value in having both. Simplicity of Pump vs the power of Sidechain. 28 tokens gets you both right now.
