Reason 10 still won't authorize but I love the upgrade

I got advice on earlier thread but I have some fresh new questions to ask.

I installed 10 as a demo last week and registered a few days later and been running GREAT with on line authorization.

It's a new computer with no previous versions of Reason on the C drive and I'm running Windows 7 with a SS Drive,

I go through the authorization process it appears I completed it but I still have to log in to operate.

I tried to manually go the Reason Authorization in the program files and my "certificate" said it was installed

Yet I still get a prompt to Log in?

I tried running the procedures with the Factory DVD in the drive thinking it might need files from that to activate

Still no go.

Whats the email for prop heads support again?

You need to authorize your computer from the web.

Do you have any trial rack extensions?

In your account at the Propshop, on the product page, hit the big authorize button. This opens a page titled Authorize Computer and Keys. There, on the computer and ignition key row is a red button that says authorize or deauthorize, you want it to say deauthorize which means you have authorized these items. This is different than authorizing your REs.
It took me a while to discover this and I was wondering why I was being asked to log in.

Are you doing the following? Watch this:

Click on this link, find Reason 10, click manage license, and then "Write License":

https://www.propellerheads.se/user/prod ... extensions

BTW, in this example, I am not trialing any RE's that require authentication, nor am I beta testing any RE's that would do the same. If you are trialing any RE's (or beta testing), you will always be prompted to log in, but you can optionally skip that for offline use (you just won't be able to access any beta or trial RE's). VST use is unaffected either way.

Thank you Enochlight for the video

Very happy with my purchase, all functions of the program appear to be working.
I'm having trouble getting authorization on my computer.
i have not installed any RE's yet and run no betas
When I go the authorization page and press authorize. The wheel just spins continually. I've tried multiple times. One time I even gave it a half hour to connect but it just keeps spinning.

I went to reason talk and this poster Enochlight made a video of how to do it and I followed the steps,
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7504185

And I got so far as "manage liscense" but when I pressed this the wheel just kept spinning and I got this error message

"No Authorizer connection found. Please reload the page to to start Authorizer again. If it does not work, please verify that Authorizer is correctly installed.Authorizer is installed when you install Reason.

I reloaded the page and the same thing happens, wheel spinning forever.

I bought Reason 10 from zzsounds and am paying in 4 installments.
I initially installed the demo version while waiting for it to be shipped to me.
Could this be the issue? That RS 10 won't authorize until it is paid in full?

Two things: if you show a Reason 10 license in your account, then you have the full license. The "demo" of Reason is the release channel. It just shows the "demo" option if you haven't authorized your computer or don't have an authorized dongle plugged in. It appears as though your web browser is having a problem finding/launching Authorizer. Go into your "Programs and Features" in your computer, click on the "Name" column and set your installed apps to be organized alphabetically. You should see "Authorizer 2.92d15" installed. If you don't, then you need to reinstall Reason. If you do, then the issue is likely with your Internet browser.

If your browser's script is the issue, here's how to fix that (at least in Chrome):

Thanks for your help. I tried all your suggestions.

First I checked the Progams and Features in my control panel and it shows that Authorizer 2.92d15
IS installed.

Then using chrome I went to the same url shown in your screen shot and there is no sheild icon to the left of the star icon in the address bar

The though I tried Firfox before I again opened Firfox and it still would not authorize.

Maybe my only option is to uninstall and reinstall.

Yeah, I'd definitely try reinstalling Reason again. If you can't get Authorizer to launch then, send off an email to support at: support@propellerheads.se as Loque posted above. Link support to this thread so they can see what you've tried already.

Good luck!

Have you had a version of Reason authorized on another PC previously? If so did you unauthorize that PC?

You have to make sure you have authorizer and codemeter installed first.

Also, I've never gotten the authorization to work with Firefox (at least the versions of firefox at the time I tried last). Chrome was the only browser I got it to work through.

Also note that if you have trial versions of RE's you may also get the login prompt because of them.

He's confirmed that he already has Authorizer installed; Codemeter should not be required at all (hasn't been since 7.0), though some have reported success after installing it.

@calebbrennan: if you want to try the Codemeter route, the latest version can be installed from here:

I copied much of what you instructed me to do to reason support and they got back to me today the text of the email is posted below

"After the CodeMeter installation, go to:
https://www.propellerheads.se/user/prod ... horize.php
On the page that appears, click the Authorize button next to the computer icon.

If Authorizer doesn't launch when you clicked the Authorize button it could be that either your web browser doesn't associate phrem-links with the intended application (Authorizer) or it actively prevents them from opening.

If you're using IE, please make sure you have IE11 or later.

If you're using Chrome, apparently some things changed in the Chrome upgrade (30.X) that doesn't go well with our systems. If you can see a shield on the right side of the address field, click it, then click "Load unsafe script". Now Authorizer should start.

If you're using Firefox, go to Preferences/applications and make sure "Phrem" is associated with Authorizer.

If none of the above works, could you try the following and get back to me, for diagnostic purposes?

1. Make sure Authorizer is not running.
2. Launch your web browser.
3. In the address field of your web browser, type
phrem:version?1
and hit enter.
4. Now, is Authorizer launched?

If the authorization succeeded you should now be able to run Reason off-line.

Note! Any Trial Rack Extensions will still require log-in, though.

Best regards,

Still no luck, I installed the code meter and tried to launch authorizer and the wheel just spins.

I typed in phrem:version?1
in the address bar and hit enter.

Sorry but that's not true! Reason can run in Demo mode or with internet verification without Codemeter installed.

But to authorize your computer (or a hardware ignition key), you need Codemeter.

Clicking the "More Options" link in the login dialog in Reason takes you to a page that explains this and links to downloads etc.

Many years ago when I updated from RS 3 to RS 6 it took me three months to get it to work properly.

I dreaded upgrading from 6 to 10 but I took the leap 3 weeks ago and I love it.

But I've tried everything and it refuses to authorize my computer!!!

At least I have a working program but there is something seriously wrong with the authorization process!

As I can see when doing searches for my issues it appears I am not alone.

Good to know; thanks. It's just strange as I don't have Codemeter installed (haven't for years), yet I can authorize offline. If it is installed, it's not showing up in my list of installed programs. * shrugs *

So if you open a new tab in your browser and In the address field type phrem:version?1 - it doesn't launch the Authorizer window???!

Yes that is correct.
I made a screen shot that shows that shows what happens. Chrome assumes it is a search term and I just get search results. The screen shot also shows there is no badge in the address bar to the left of the star icon.

I want to post it here but I'm having trouble doing that. I made a jpeg of the shot and used the full Editor & preview option and using the [img][\img] button but can't seem to get it to work.

You clearly have an issue with your browser - entering that into the address bar should launch the script. I can get it to work on Chrome (version 62.0.3202.94), Edge, and Firefox. Are you running Ghostery, Adblock, or some anti-virus software that is possibly blocking it?

thanks for getting back so quickly, I do have malewarebytes installed and I will disable it momentarily to see if that allows it authorize.

malewarebytes is the only anti virus program running -I went into malewarebytes and created exclusions for Reason and Propellerhead site then tried to phrem:version?1 in another tab a no luck

Then I disabled malewarebyte altogether and tried to authorize using phrem as well as authorizing. from the ""my products" from the help menu within the program wheel spins and nothing

This computer is new built last week with latest version of chrome.

I must be missing something, I usually allow the wheel to spin for a couple of minutes before I try again,..should I wait longer? Does it typically need to load for a long time without any notice?

At this point it is getting ridiculous , does propellerhead offer to remotely go into my computer and fix this? I'm at my wits end.

I appreciate your patience but I'm starting to lose mine

That's when I laugh at myself,...becuase the fault is probably "user" error but dang it I don't know what I'm doing wrong!

This computer is "new"... but it's running Windows 7 (an OS that's 8 years old)??! Did you build this yourself? Windows 7 hasn't been updated in years, but I realize a lot of people like it still. Is it 64-bit at least?

As far as a "spinning wheel", there shouldn't be one (not for any length of time, anyway). Authorizer launches instantaneously on 3 different browsers on my +5-year old machine running Windows 10. The only thing I can guess at is that there is an issue with the Codemeter/Authorizer utility, since this is doing it on any browser you try. You have tried other browsers, correct?

I'm really at a loss, man. I agree with support that your issue is a web browser, but you might have something worse happening underneath your OS hood (so to speak). Re-installing Reason, installing the latest Codemeter, and using the latest web browser associated with the script should absolutely launch Authorizer. If it doesn't, you have bigger issues. Good luck!

I've installed the latest about 20 min. ago.

Service packs and features. But yeah, they're still issuing small maintenance updates. I expect that to continue for at least a few more years, judging from how they handled XP.

Since you're on Windows 7, maybe you can get him sorted? Can you think of anything that we've missed in this thread?
