Wondering if anyone is interested in a modular section for Reasontalk?

Hey there,
I am not sure if this has been proposed and discounted already (trying to search for a topic like this isn't easy), but I am wondering if there are users who would like to discuss and share various modular designs to Reason without using individual threads spread across all of the various sections of this web site?
One of the things I love most of Reason, is the modular concept of the DAW itself, and I find it sort of strange that a specialty group of users, dedicated to this single DAW, doesn't actually have a specialized section to the modular capabilities of the system. I am always trying to find new ways to use my Blamsoft, Jiggery Pokery, Ochen K, and other various individual components to come up with new and strange configurations, and I find it sort of strange that the idea of sharing these amongst this user base isn't more popular than it is. I have to admit, most of what gets discussed on the general and rack extensions sections is on pre-made RE synths and their performances and costs. Looking at the Rack Extension section right now, and I see no active discussion of anything modular at all. In the tutorials section, some of the conversations touch on these topics, but nothing specifically geared towards modular configurations.
For an example, I remember a thread I was talking with someone a few months ago in which we were discussing a modular template, and it is almost impossible to find that link, due to the age and the commonality of some of the search terms. Another user shared a combinator that he had developed that was as useful for customized drums as a complete RE/VST would be, but I can't find that thread anymore because I do not remember which section is was under. It is almost like people love that Reason is modular, but do not actually want to discuss the questions they might have, or show off their creations.
I would love to see a whole section dedicated to the modular capabilities of Reason sort of like we have with the "Rack Extensions" and "VST Plugins" sections. I think confining examples of modularity within Reason to individual threads spread across the "Reason General", "Rack Extensions", and "Tutorials" sections discourages these conversations. I tried to look for "modular" just a few moments ago, and almost all of the results were from the discussions of the current May Madness sale. I went four pages in, and not a single configuration or example on anything to actually do with making music within Reason.
Or, maybe this isn't required as users would be talking about their modular solutions already, and as a group, we really do not spend that much time delving into this area of Reason.

I think it's a great idea. Because Reason is really powerful on that side, and now we will have Vst, it means people will come onboard for the Vst stuff, with no habit of CV tweaking and so on, and for such, as it makes Reason unique (well almost) , it's a good approach to give new ideas to newcomers. As well as specifically sharing on this is good for everyone, as possibilities are endless, so I'm sure everybody has his specific trick for modular patching. I support this idea completely.

Modular setups are more for the specialist users of Reason, without a doubt it was all that lovely wiring that first attracted me to Reason.
Being it's more specialist you will probably find that these users are quite proficient in what they\we do and hence don't really ask too many questions.
Yes I like what you are proposing, it could even be a sub forum of "Reason General".
I hope the poll goes well.

At this point, either the poll isn't going well, or this is something that very few people care for. I really thought there would be more responses. I am not too advanced with my "modular" sounds, but I hope to find other, like-minded people hear who want to share their ideas, so we all can become better. I know I will be an active participant if anything happens.Carly(Poohbear) wrote:Modular setups are more for the specialist users of Reason, without a doubt it was all that lovely wiring that first attracted me to Reason.

And this is in the Website Suggestion forum (which is appropriate), but not many folks keep an eye on this. I always load 'new posts' and browse that way. Others just stick to certain forums, so they don't see this.

I agree with what Joey said about not many people keeping an eye on this forum, I suppose I was lucky seeing this out of the corner of my eye...joeyluck wrote:Well the ReasonTalk team likes the ideafotizimo wrote:At this point, either the poll isn't going well, or this is something that very few people care for. (I remember when I first joined this forum I only looked at Reason Music section only nothing else at all.).
I take it there is no cost just admin time in setting this up Joey?

The idea we have is to add a " Reason Modular and CV " section. Maybe as a subsection of general.
We like to add in CV because its an integral part of the modular setup and both are subjects very suitable for a bit more in-depth topics.

This one would fit perfect: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7498528&hilit=let%27s+get+modular
latest V12 on MacOS Ventura
Honestly, that is example is perfect, and somehow i missed that thread.theshoemaker wrote:

i would love a place to talk about various 'recipes' to link all of our REs together. There is still so much I'm discovering daily. I love diving in and setting up auto generating songs, and throwing CV around to different things.
I'd love discussions on audio rate CV and which filters in which REs can do different things. It's one thing to talk combinator design, but digging deep into modular approaches really fascinates me.

If you ain't hip to the rare Housequake, shut up already.
Damn.
Damn.

I'm afraid I will be a spectator, only. An eager spectator, but a spectator, nonetheless. Modular is a rich man's racket.
Edit: I see I misread. I guess we're talking about using Reason like a modular synthesizer. This is something in which I am highly interested. In fact, I started a lonely thread along similar lines several months ago, detailing my "euroid" rack (which is still evolving and somewhat simplified from when I posted this thread):

Hey there,
I guess going back to my original request, if we end up talking about in this thread which is under the web site suggestions section, it will get low visibility, and eventually will fall down the list as other threads pop up.
To me, it really only works if there is a section/subsection for this topic, because all individual modular threads will eventually be pushed down each time a new RE or VST comes along if the thread exists in the "General", "Tutorial", or "RE" sections. I think it would be awesome to see not only threads showcasing or explaining modular setups, but also showing off songs that have been built using modular concepts.
Again, just my two cents.

My bad, you are absolutely correct.
My point is that if you want to show us that you need a separate part of the forum to discuss stuff like this, then show us all how much talk there is.
To date, there is a small group of folks who are interested in this of the thousands registered here and the hundreds who visit regularly.
That would be the way to make your case for splitting discussion off into a separate sub-forum, that's all I was trying to suggest!

Well, it's up to 16. Another 100 and we might get somewhere.
I'm afraid we are weirdos, too esoteric and too far off the beaten path to attract much interest.

It would be something that I would use regular but it would need to be in context of reason also and how you could do the same thing in Reason. It may well be the CV forums sub-forum though!
It is not too much of an ask for people or things to be the best version of itself!

Another good suggestion that slipped off the radar....
Yes, it slipped off the radar, but like I said earlier (paraphrasing) if this is a subject that gets more active, we will certainly make a sub forum for it. If it falls off the radar, maybe it's because there is little ongoing interest - and if so, then we don't need a separate section for it. Make sense?
We are always open to suggestions, but cannot implement every single suggestion. If things change, we will change in response. However, as relates to this topic, some want more sub-forums, some want less - we try to strike an even balance to the degree that's possible!
