I started the below post before doing a net Search.
Doh !!

I haven't dived deep into any of this yet and I'm probably going to have to do it in Reaper as I'm running Reason 6.5.2

Would this stuff be possible in Reason 8.1 ??

Has anyone mucked about with this by chance?

I want to be able to control parameters by using a Joystick.
Think Nectar in Joystick form.

When I push the Joystick forward I want to go into a Pitch Dive, if I pull it up I want it to raise the pitch.  I want the Joysticks various buttons to control everything from Kong hits to other MIDI triggers. I want the Joystick hat to trigger different reversed open/closed Hi Hats.
Pitch, roll, dive, putton push.......

When I go right into a death barrel roll I want my sound to follow me.
I want to do this wearing a leather helmet, goggles and a Prop scarf.

I remember the old DA15, DB9 connectors from the days of yore..

Is this possible with the USB joysticks?

I've been thinking of trying it myself, but only have gotten as far as you. If I decide to try setting it up, I'll let you know my results. I have a corded Xbox 360 controller that should work fine and I imagine it's a matter of using that software you linked and configuring the CC numbers and midi channels as necessary.

What prompted my interest was the CV Suite Vectorizer, which has an XY pad for CV control: https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/ ... ectorizer/

Thanks for the response and the link to the shop.
I don't know much about CV and MIDI routing etc., but it seems it's possible to get a working setup, hopefully for Reason.  (I plan on upgrading at R9 if Props builds a new synth)
I'm more interested in it because it seems more ergonomically friendly (not talking about carpel tunnel or any disability) as opposed to Joysticks/Game Controllers being cheap -compared to surface controller prices, although that point has some weight also.
Sounds kinda fun too.

You can turn pretty much anything into a midi number and reason has a use for most of them so yeah, go batshitcrazy on it and use reason custom midi mapping to control any parameter you like. if you end us designing a device you can write a remote file for it so Reason knows how to treat it when it's plugged in.
If I had more money and space I'd be churning out experimental midi devices all the time but I don't so I can't but I would if I could.
@pushedbutton on twitter, add me, send me a message, but don't try to sell me stuff cos I'm skint.
Using Reason since version 3 and still never finished a song.
