I bought A Coverup Pro Stand for my Akai Force, so I can work more ergonomically with the Force.

It is a real enhancement, and I enjoy working with my Force even better!

A new mini MIDI keyboard, the Akai MPK mini MK3, to compliment my Akai LPK 25 wireless. The latter will be used on the go with my iPad as it has bluetooth.

The MPK has also a joystick kind of thing to control Pitch and Modulation, which I need (I think).

Sold out almost everywhere in The Netherlands, I ordered it in Germany, and will arrive later this week.

Got it for free in return for promising to go down one Friday and play for a load of pensioners. No PSU so ended up having to order one from the UK plus postage plus customs duties. Ach well…hope it works :)

It's a multifx. It also has a valve in it...apparently to add "analogue warmth" or whatever the kids are calling it these days. PSU came today and the unit seems to work. That said, I don't like digital multi fx so I'll probably never use it. Did however just get a handwired silicon Tonebender/ Buzzaround mk3 in the post and it's awesome.

1) curved computer gaming monitor Samsung Odyssey G95C with 5120x1440 @ 240Hz
2) computer gaming keayboard Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro
3) computer gaming mouse Razer Viper V3 Pro

i am expecting also to get desktop build PC:
- MB: ASUS PRIME B860-PLUS-CSM, LGA1851, ATX
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF, BOX
- CPU: Antec Vortex 360 ARGB
- RAM: DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz Kingston FURY Beast RGB
- SSD: 2TB M.2 NVMe Crucial T700
- GPU: MANLI GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB Polar Fox
- PSU: 850W LC-POWER LC6850M V2.31 80 PLUS Gold, modular
- CASE: Antec DF800 Flux gaming, black

when i get a PC ... and when i reorder my desk... i will post a pic of my desk.

there is only one thing that concerns me, but as far as i know there are fixes, that this CPU is affected.
i looked at ASUS official web site for this MB... and there are several updates/fixes for BIOS.
also they say, i looked via google, there are Windows OS updates that fiexes some problems.
but, also as far as i see, these errors wouldn't affect my scenario of use any way. at least i think so. but i will do all updates/install all fixes. ofcourse.
i will also report about that.

Just bought myself a Presonus Studio 24C audio interface.

I have an audio interface already, but my Akai Force stole it from my PC……LOL.

As I do want to be able to work with Reason 12 and Live 10 suite, I needed another interface.

The Presonus has two advantages over an comparable Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4gen: first of all the price and second it has MIDI in and out. It is not a super interface, but will do the job. Won’t be recording with mics with this interface. Especially dynamic mic recordings are the weak point of the Presonus Studio 24C, as it has not got a lot of gain.

But for playback it is more than enough. Beside that, I do not know how long I will use my PC for music creating. Basically is everything done on the Force nowadays.

I ordered the interface in Germany, and it should arrive the 24th of february.

We will see how it is holding up, but I have confidence in Presonus. So far, I’m happy with the Presonus Monitor Station V2 and the Presonus Eris E8 studio monitors.

The new interface arrived today. I took the time clean my 19 inch rack and mount some led lights for better view on the equipment.

Then installed the new interface, and the Presonus Studio 24C works like a charm. I’m happy!!!!!

Cherry Audio's Rhodes Chroma through Plugin Boutique's ongoing (until March 2) 13th anniversary sale.

First music-making purchase this year, although I'd promised myself no more synths. <sigh>

That 65" Nanocell TV by LG that I kept crowing about. The recent, 2024 model. I've been testing it out for weeks now.

Gotta say, it's surprising that IPS has better colors than OLED. Except the blacks of course - OLED is king there. However, OLED is also king at burning in, lol.

In the future, I will very likely stick to IPS, this Nanocell tech seems to have something to it after all! I saw they have QNED edition, with mini LED light version. If that will have 86" version at 8k, then that might be my future choice.

Anyway, I shall review the 65" TV sometime.
It's barely looking pixelated from monitor-distance. I really like how it looks from up close!

Of course, I already found 1 color-blind pixel. : )

I also got 2 high frequency absorbers. ... Plush figures. : D No, not a bad childhood thing - bad life in general, eh? : D

Also, electric toothbrush. The skin finally came off of one of my wisdom teeth. Been a week, looking a lot better now. It does better with hard to reach places, than I. Plus it cleans my tongue fast and well.
The first week though! The skin in my mouth got so many little injuries from the brush that burned from any acidity! But I got some Lacalut toothpaste that did it's magic quickly. Still the same price! But it seems kinda watered up. x D

2 more "high frequency absorbers". x D

I also got the D12 by Edifier. Damn, that "little" thing goes surprisingly deep. Almost a shame I got it as a center speaker. Now I have enough speakers for a 5.1 system!

I also finally found a 5.1/7.1 DAC, which would work with the TV's optical out for once. A Sound Blaster X4. Might get that one.

ooh, nice setup. nice and clean. good idea on LED lights for the rack--I should look at those, so my old ass doesn't have to squint so much, haha.

I got sick of the rats nest behind my desk and decided to invest in a couple of patchbays and some additional rack gear, so I was able to move the rats nest to behind my rack instead. 😆 once I get the last of the insane amount of cables/adapters I had to buy in order to get everything routed properly installed, and do some cable management, maybe I'll share a pic of mine as well.

A 1 meter rabbit plush figure. x D Guess who's got the Easter Bunny locked up in his house! : D Very decorative, especially for the season, and might even help room acoustics a tiny bit. The price was a steal, and it's not even a crappy looking one. The spiders are gonna love it, too, just like the back of the TV.

I don't like that fresh store cloth type scent though. Might freshen up the poor stink rabbit. : )

It will be about time I guess to get ready for real pet rabbit keeping, though. : P Who doesn't like rabbits?

Oh I know, then I was correct, just not confident. I watched it as a kid, although the drawn animations.

During teens, it was not cool to watch cartoons, but Happy Tree Friends, SouthPark, The Simpsons, etc. was somehow okay.

As an adult, well, it started with after a day of exhausting renovation work, I grabbed a bottle of sparkling water, added 1 L of my own wine to it and even new toons proved to be fun. : D

Uhhhh... once again one of these "one thing led to another, and another, and another...".

So, I found an ad for a Malekko B:ASSMASTER (Si) in the local classifieds. Acquiring one had been a long-time dream of mine due to the sonic characteristics of that pedal, but also, because of Paul Barker. The pedal is named after him (Barker Assmaster), he was also the co-founder of Malekko Heavy Industries.

Being a huge fan of Paul Barker (Ministry, Lead Into Gold, RevCo, etc.) I naturally jumped at it as it wasn't ridiculously pricey (220€, ok for being vintage, OOP, coveted, etc., and the fucking sound, man, the sound!). Ca-ching!

Ok, now I have a pedal. Realization: I need a solid 9V power supply for it! 20€. Ca-ching!

I fooled around with it for a while with a synth plugged through it. All fine and well, but not quite what I had in mind...

Meanwhile, I spotted an Orange Fur Coat fuzz/distortion pedal on the second-hand market (with the boxes and all) for 120€... but that had managed to sell while I was waffling about whether I really need it without having an actual electric bass in my possession...

Well, that was about to be corrected as I ran into another classified ad about a Korean-made licensed production clone of Ernie Ball's Music Man "Stingray" by OLP that certainly looked the part: sweet metallic grey/green (moss) finish, 4-strings, active pickups, etc., and a hard case for... 320€ with home delivery. Ca-ching!

That bass is actually really nice, especially for the money. I like the tone. Ok... it is heavy, but since I will not be gigging with it, no biggie.

Then... the person selling that Orange Fur Coat pedal contacted me because the last buyer had folded. So, I got it for 120€, postage included. Ca-ching!

Then I realized that I needed new instrument and patch cables, and a power splitter since the Fur Coat didn't come with one... another 75€. Ca-ching!

I still need to get new strings for it, and a guitar/bass stand. Oh well... maybe that will be it for a while, I can handle the rest of the FX chain in Reason.

That said, I do have my eyes on a Havrezi Hazze by SOMA (waveshape noise goodness), and maybe a Strymon Big Sky... and a Boss looper... and an Eventide multi-FX... and this is the point where I realize this rabbit hole has no end. Like, no end at all.

My eDrum purchase was more manageable in the sense that once I had the Roland TD-K27V2 and the rest of the kit (throne, pedals, snare and hi-hat stands, noise isolators, sticks, etc.), I can produce a ton of noise on it without any need to expand on its capabilities. Synths, aside from the modular stuff? Same thing, they are pretty self-contained.

But an electric bass or guitar... oh boy. Deceivingly simple. G.A.S. is a thing, for sure, big time.

I'd better be careful. 😅

Wait what? TIL Paul Barker co-founded Malekko (I've had a few of their modules over the years). I had no idea as I didn't keep up with him after the 1990s and crossing paths on a few project with local Nashville band Dessau.

I also never head of the pedal but now you have me interested!!!
