We will remove the faulty bans.

I've implemented some changes today, we'll see how they hold up. :-)

For me mobile generally works, although I do get logged out. Desktop always fails. Usually a US VPN works better than say EU countries or UK. But that might just be fluke.

The rollout will happen gradually as DNS changes propagates globally. Your browser(s) might also have cached this and that. :)

Cool. Thanks, Kenni. I might try clearing the cache and see if that helps.

I got banned too yesterday! Unfortunately at the time I didn't see the updates in this thread about other members having the same issues so I thought it was just me. I was shocked and really quite disturbed as I didn't know what I did wrong!
I managed to log into my user area long enough to message Kenni (as the site admin email address that is given on the ban screen is undeliverable).
I also messaged Selig outside of the forum to ask for help (sorry Giles!).

I think the 'piss off" message made me feel even worse. Was that a message from the hackers or is it a standard site message after a ban because it managed to really upset me?

Thanks for posting this info, Kenni.

Also, let's all thank Kenni for keeping RT up and running, all these years, out of his own pocket (and the kindness of his heart). Very kind of you.

Thank you, Kenni. Much love!!
Just want to echo this post. I don't sub to many forums at all as I find them generally unfriendly and antagonistic, but that's not usually the case here.

Probably why I felt so shocked at being given a ban yesterday!
As Joni Mitchell wrote, "you don't know what you've got 'till its gone."

Although I don't post that often I visit most days and feel that it's almost a home from home. So I'd like to thank you Kenni for giving me and so many others here, a little place of our own.

No, there is no default/standard message given to someone who is banned. This is a message one of the other mods had sent to specific banned users he deemed as spambots. And for some reason, with whatever glitch was happening when logging in, some people were seeing this.

When I got that PISS OFF message, I thought for a second that did I accidentally rap something bad as I posted a new song just a bit earlier. Even though my rap was rather positive i.e. didn't diss anything. :puf_bigsmile:

Out of all the places, why would someone target this forum...

Not this forum specifically. No or just a few hacker target specific sites. They scan the whole Internet for specific sites, platforms, software and try to intrude. This is normally done automatically by tools. Even a retarded 8 year old can do that. So, if you use a common platform, you obviously will be attacked.

Half of Internet is full with such traffic including spam. The other half is mostly pron. Maybe only 10% is real traffic... Just IMHO...
Well, if an 8 year old tart can do that, then gee, I gotta question my brain. : D Though okay, if it's automated; and considering the growth of AI, then maybe yes, it's possible.

England's National Health Service was hacked with Ransomware by accident (i.e. it was just a script looking for basic exploits).
