Hi,
I haven't used remote mapping in years and I've forgotten everything.
I see that in the Roland A-500 remote map different functions can be assigned to the knobs. For example, from line 1203 knobs are assigned to channels pan and from line 1212 to other controls. Is there a way to switch between pan control and compressor control (lines 1216-1219)?
By default the knobs are assigned to pan control.
Remote mapping. Multiple controls assignment.

I'm not familiar with the Roland A-500, but at the top of the remote map, there should be a line that defines Keyboard Shortcut variations. By default in Reason, you access the different variations via ctrl/alt# (for pc). There can be up to 10 variations.

Yes, you can switch between functions by using different control maps or assigning a button to toggle between them. Check if your A-500 allows custom mapping or switching via MIDI messages.

There are 2 ways to do this, one is to assign different cc codes/functions on your keyboard. For reason remote, these new functions are exposed to the daw as new controls, so you have to add the new controls to the remote map and assign them.
The second way is configuring a group inside the remote file. Groups work as pages and the reponsibility to build the behaviour of each page stays on the side of the remote, so you don't have to "reroute" anything on the keyboard, you still have to create the group matrix inside the remote.
Check for "group" in the remote map to see an example for that.
I've never explored keyboard shortcut variations. I think the difference to groups is that the groups are selected with device buttons (i prefer it this way but it depends if you have enough buttons for the groups you want to assign).
