New upgrade price (reduced to $149) and a final upgrade offer from Intro/Lite
https://www.reasonstudios.com/news/post ... -of-reason
The upgrade price has been reduced from $199 (which had been the upgrade price for the past 3 years, up from $129 initially) down to $149. This is not a sale, but a regular price adjustment.
The upgrade options coming from other versions (Intro/Lite, etc.) is being removed, with one final offer. Looks like it's $149 to upgrade from Intro/Lite right now.

I guess this is also a sign that we won't be seeing Reason Intro make a return if they are removing the upgrade option. Maybe still hope for a free empty Rack that wouldn't need an upgrade option? Would just need a buy Reason option...
To upgrade from Intro?
The full version upgrade was on sale for $79 last month during the Season of Reason sale, and the upgrade from Intro/Lite was on sale for $159.

For me it doesn't matter if they lower the price... Even if they would offer the upgrade for free I still wouldn't upgrade with that failed/floating browser.
Until they fix it so you can either dock the browser or choose a legacy browser alternative they won't get a cent from me.
When they start to actuality LISTENING to their users feedback and implementing futures that we've been asking for for years, maybe they can turn the tide and get people to start upgrading/paying again.

I wonder what made them realize that this was not a $199 upgrade. Poor sales? Bad feedback? It's a step in the right direction but 13 is still not a $149 upgrade when you compare the huge lists of updates and feature improvements and bug fixes that almost every other DAW gets with a new number release.
Tempting for 2026. Good move.

I've been using Reason since 2.0 and currently at 11 standalone. Given the number of devices not included in the upgrade to 13, I decided instead to take advantage of the $99 1 year subscription sale instead.
I switched to Ableton a few years ago for my primary DAW and am using Reason as a plugin only, so waiting for enough new features or a better price break works well for me.

Not sure if the email offers an extra discount, but in the shop, the upgrade from Intro/Lite is already marked on sale for $149
https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/prod ... introlite/
I received an email yesterday about the new upgrade price, nothing specific to Intro/Lite. It also mentions that if upgrading between now and February 14, it includes an offer of 50% off any Reason Studios RE.
I was thinking the same, but there's currently nobody around wanting a full Reason or Reason Lite.

White you waited, you couldn't use it. "Doing wrong" is a matter of perspective or point of view.MannequinRaces wrote: ↑01 Feb 2025Anyone not waiting until Reason Studios dropped it 60% off for $79 during the Season of Reason sale was doing it wrong.Jackjackdaw wrote: ↑01 Feb 2025Anyone not getting their upgrades from jrrshop on Black friday for $89 is doing it all wrong.![]()

Absolutely! Not disagreeing with that. I was doing other hobbies so the time and price was right for me.Loque wrote: ↑01 Feb 2025White you waited, you couldn't use it. "Doing wrong" is a matter of perspective or point of view.MannequinRaces wrote: ↑01 Feb 2025

Live Suite is always over $200
I never had issues with the usual Reason $129 upgrade
v13 browser is what ruined it for some.
Time will tell how well Resonus does with the Bitwig model.

So upgrades for Intro and Lite are gone forever?
I see Sweetwater in the USA still has some in stock….for $400!!!!
Guess this is the end of the road for me.

Yeah that was the normal price to upgrade. I believe the special offer to upgrade for $149 just ended? I guess a few stores may still have a few left to sell.enossified2 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2025So upgrades for Intro and Lite are gone forever?

Reason Studios confirmed that I missed my chance by three days. That plus issues I ran into with RRP I posted in a different thread means I’m done for good. Thanks for the responses.
I saw that and that you began with Reason 2.5. Do you no longer have a full version license to upgrade from? Because that upgrade is $149.enossified2 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025Reason Studios confirmed that I missed my chance by three days. That’s correct, I sold my 2.5 license a few years ago, probably around the time of R8. I picked up R11 Intro for $49 in the 2019 Xmas sale offer to check out using the RRP with Logic. It was a mixed bag compared to Rewire, Nektar doesn't support the RRP except inside Nektarine.
I did hear back from Reason Studios who told me that while I missed the 2/14 cutoff date
As a personal offer we can extend this discount for you if you're interested in getting Reason 13
Anybody else who was on the fence and missed the date should contact support immediately. I have no idea how long they will be willing to do this.
