Part 06 - Effect Processing
I cover the core effects only here - compressors etc are later in mixing.
I love how practical these core effects are. There are a raft of specialist or kooky devices like Alligater too but they are all based on the things I cover here. Learn these and you can use anything anywhere. Even better you can see inside what all those sound goodifier VST are doing and DIY cheaper and with better control here in Reason.
and yes, thanks Mr Bitley.

Agreed. And I’d recommend these for any level user. Even if it’s just a refresh. There’s not a lot to learn about Reason or music production in these videos for me.There are however lots of little nuggets of info and insights about how to use various tools and synths I perhaps hadn’t considered before. I often watch these while I walk to and from work and I almost always think “I must try that when I get home!”
That's the spirit & sorry for my typo too!

07 - Sequencer & MIDI
Reason really comes together in the Sequencer. A DAW is a holistic environment - not just the result of a list of menu items of technical tasks. Reason works very well as a whole. This makes making & mixing music thing flow much nicer. Anyone who claims making music is easy is lying but when you find the right match, a DAW really does make things easier to achieve.

08 Reason Rack in other DAWs
Reason made a bold move a few versions back to make the Rack (Synths & fx) as a VST3 to run in any (compatible DAW). While not my preferred path, this really opens the scope for the Reason thing.

I agree I'm finding lots of little nuggets of info I never would have considered before in this series!!Toki wrote: ↑31 Dec 2024Agreed. And I’d recommend these for any level user.
