Competition Rules

• Required: Your track must use the demo refill waybeyondfairlight X delight.rfl
• Allowed additional sources:
  Sampling:
  • Up to 10 items from your immediate surroundings
  • Your own voice
  • Bitley YouTube clips from youtube.com/bitleytm
  • Sample length must not exceed 5 seconds each
  • Samples can be modified freely
  
  Devices:
  • ReDrum
  • NNXT
  • Malström
  • Grain
  • Combinator
  • All built-in Reason effect units
• Custom backdrop graphics are welcome for Signature Patches

Submission Guidelines

• Submit your entry via this form.
• Tracks must be self-contained except for content in waybeyondfairlight X delight.rfl
• Submissions will be published on YouTube after the deadline
• No distribution of tracks before competition ends

The submissions will be revealed in this thread January 16

Fairlight refill is just samples right

No It's everything. Redrum kits, Subtractor patches, effects, massive combinators, Thor patches. The early versions are also including full on demo track examples. You are, however, supposed / much welcome to add your samples to all of it when you're creating with it. That's when Reason becomes the Fairlight CMI of modern days. That's the idea. Check out the site where all of the versions are described in pretty detailed ways.

Have we been getting anything? Are you guys ON IT or was anything unclear / uncool / let us know. Deadline changes to... May 15th? May the force be with you. Will we see a Streisand effect on all of this somehow?

If I wouldn't be forced into registering an account with google just to submit a track for the competition, I might try to get something done in the little time left before the deadline.

You can simply email it to me or as a link or why not publish a hidden Youtube or Soundcloud link. That is all just tech details we can sort out as soon we get to access your track.

We suggested a solution thinking it would be easy but as you point out, not everyone likes those so called solutions. You can also post the track to me as a physical CD minidisc or cassette! I used to recieve tapes as a kid, loved it.

The first word I ever said in life was "Banda" in swedish which means "tape it".

Just a few days left and if no viable entries are posted the competition can not be run. A track can take two hours to make so there's plenty of time. But it would be cool with some creative action on this forum, bring some output.

admin heroes: can we please set this to deadline may 1st instead then and I'll make sure to create an improved demo refill with much more content & we can simplify the rules too. i'll make some song starters that can be remixed if the ideas have ran out over christmas & the dreadful world development around the globe.

The key thing is that rules can be bent a little if those are too strict. Please fill us in, people, to let us know what to do to make you run home and create.

If we're making rule/refill changes then we should close the current and open a new I think.

I just heard that there's possibly another incoming competition, lets see it doesn't clash.
We'll find a good way to sync it anyhow.

Like> perhaps one of your great refills I have not yet purchased ... That would be my only change in rules and terms.
