It is an interesting move but either super cool or just cringe.
Personally, I would rather see them take the high road but TBH most companies abandoned that a decade or so ago - Swarovski anyone.

I don't see it as the low road. I see it as a tongue in cheek acknowledgment that the majority of the customer base are amateur and diy producers making efforts to improve their craft.
