Reason Rack VST inside Reason Daw
Sorry, I couldn't find if this was asked before.
Is it possible?

No not natively available.
I think you may be able to use the RRP in a VST container type.
Either way, I've had experience with this and it's not fun or useful

Ok. Thanks. But why can't I? It's a Vst. Why would Reason care?

I want to use Reason 12 and load rpp 13 to use Ripley or Polytone if I want to, because I'm not dealing with that 13 shit. So it could be useful.

Try plugin buddy or meta plugin or any vst3 host plugin like that and report back to us and let us know if it worked! If something breaks I’m not liable, cause we’re telling you not to do it. Don’t do it!
Hahaha, Ok I won't.

Oh yeah, tried something similar, but with scaler instead of bleass. So fun. It's past midnight here...I guess I ought to open another beer.
Thanks my people.

lol @Heigen5
I know how you have had experience with this. shhhh
And I agree; neither fun nor useful.
A plugin container within a plugin container to use a couple plugins...
Regardless of what someone might not like about R13, using R13 sounds like the much better solution to me

The potential usefulness of being able to load the RRP into Reason would be to build RRP versions of your songs in Reason and then save them for use in another DAW. There is no other easy way to prep Reason tracks for playback in another DAW, although you would STILL need one other feature for full compatibility: the ability of RRP to host VSTs…(not holding my breath on this one).
Use case: There is still a gap left by removing ReWire that RRP does not yet fill…

Not really. It would make more sense to ask why buy Reason 13 just for a couple of plugins? A mistake, would be the correct answer to that.
But loading polytone or ripley here and there via pluginbuddy and not having to go trough the pain of that 13 browser is actually great in my case.

The idea is great but in my opinion Ripley and Polytone are not even worth the effort. I really hope that some day Reason Studios will admit that the new browser was a complete failure and brings back the good old one.Mataya wrote: ↑29 Sep 2024Not really.
