thanks for your help.... do you mean terminal instead of console... I can't figure out console but tried this in terminal with the following resultsmadmacman wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020Did you try to manually de-quarantine it?
Open console, navigate to vst folder, then enter the following command:
Replace <filename> with the actual filename of pg-8x plugin. If that doesn‘t work, you can add a ‚sudo‘ before:Code: Select all
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine <filename>
Then you‘ll be asked for your user password.Code: Select all
sudo xattr -d com.apple.quarantine <filename>
Hope this helps.
Sorry, yes - Terminal. „Console“ is a false friend for non-native speakers.
Code: Select all
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine PG-8X.vst
SUCCESS !!!!!!!!!madmacman wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020Sorry, yes - Terminal. „Console“ is a false friend for non-native speakers.
And the greater than/less than symbols are a habit for a placeholder. Ignore them and try:
EDIT: Oh, and you should first navigate to the folder where the plugins are located. But I‘m currently away from my Mac. Will have to look tomorrow where to go.Code: Select all
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine PG-8X.vst
I have this plugin fo so long now: Does it come with an installer (pkg file) or as plain vst file which you have to copy to the correct destination folder? Then I could check out the correct folder - and prepare a ready-to-use command.
This gave me hope.
For clarification, this link does not appear to show a patch list - can you update the link to show the intended patch list please? (Especially considering past conversations, trying to keep things on topic here).bitley wrote: ↑21 Nov 2024Hi guys! It's not cheap, correct observation, as it's actually extremely large and took a long long time to create. There's a patch list on the page for it. https://bitleysounds.com/index.php/way-beyond-pg8x/
Thanks again for this, wondering if this helps the guy in the vst section, highlighting by quoting this.madmacman wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020Did you try to manually de-quarantine it?

Thanks for the thorough answer!bitley wrote: ↑02 Dec 2024Hi! The deal is over to begin with!
They are totally different; just that the PG-8X comes with a pretty large sample library as a luxurious add-on that made it possible to make some patches richer sounding. It doesn't have any of the WBF R2 sounds but a few add on patches for it. PG-8X emulates Roland JX-8P, a synth I have used a lot over the years, so I built all my JX-8P tones into it. JX-10 and MKS-70 are two Roland machines built on the design of two JX-8P voice cards and a controller card, and they practically are two 8P machines in one. I built sounds for JX-10 as well, back in the day, so all those patches are also reprogrammed into the PG-8X plugin by help of a combinator design that uses two PG-8Xes per sound as a basic foundation. Some more huge patches also play back samples. That is the basic layout. Effects and Combinator buttons & knobs are also assigned for easy user tweakability just as in WBF R2.
