1) Europa - still my go to, become familiar with it and it's a joy to use.
2) RV7000 - I use it on everything so it needs a place here
3) Quartet - I use this on everything too, I like to save it for last when designing a sound and it's like a reward to use it at the end
4) The Echo - I will likely dig in to Ripley but for now The Echo does the job very well
5) The new sequencer!

1.Serum - for me a synth I am familiar with and enjoy using. I like europa but serum can have more envelopes/lfo's etc.
2.Objekt - still very much a tweak and see the results synth for me but I dig that exploration. Brilliant for interesting percussive elements and the presets are good so often I just tweak them.
3. Shaperbox 3 - my goto for volume ducking as it is so flexible with designing shapes but it is so much more with reverb, distortion, panning, etc.
4. Ouroboros - saw this on the reason livestream with ekss and was sold on it when Ryan responded to my comment about techno and in seconds he had a dope bassline. Used it on every track since.
5. Echo - it's basic, easy to set up and perfect for basic delays. I have a vast array of different delays for more creative duties but echo is used the most as a insert or send for those times you want something quick and simple.

1 Steerpike: The only delay unit I will ever need. Maybe once I upgrade to 13 I might use Ripley here and there, but Steerpike plus a few extra devices can do the same thing and even more.
2 Synapse DR-1 Reverb: Just the best reverb out there. I cannot get enough of the lushness.
3 Ammo 100LA: The LFO I use everywhere. If you need even more LFO action then you can use his bigger brothers 400R and 1200BR.
4 FM4 & ReDominator: Simple FM and Subtractive Synth. They do what they need to do. Simple and effective.
5 Volt SL-1 CV Selector. This is basically a tool that lets you build your own more powerful Polyphone Synth. Instead of only having A/B you have A–L, 24 parameters to control. Morph curves and morph time between the different patches. It is so powerful.

I have Serum but it's collecting dust waiting for me to want to make some dubstep basses from some tutorials, must be insane to have as your go to

Yes man Steerpike, I used this loads there are great presets in there and the set up is great how you can see each of the delays and have control over them, so cool. I really like Volt-SL1 also, I don't use it much lately but it's very good for great control over morphing all kinds of things, even just playing with filters with it.

- ShapeShifter // aberrantDSP
This is my go to multiband compressor. It's very simple to dial the settings, this can make everything shine and crystal clear. AberrantDSP is one of my favorite devs.
- RE-2A Leveling Amp // CakeWalk
The old Re removed from the store, I'm happy to own it, it's really well implemented, this will help to tame the dynamics.
- LoudMax // Thomas Mundt
A free tool, this limiter works very well, helps to keep everything controlled.
- Quanta (v1) // AudioDamage
I'm loving granular synthesis. The Quanta V1 is very well designed. What I like most about this version is that you can control the number of grains. The V2 version lost this ability, so I never upgraded. When you can control the grains, you can sync them in tempo.
- Complex-1 // Propellerhead
This one just sounds amazing. You can do so much with it, and the sound landscape is expansive.

Good question! I don't have Reason 13 yet, so I'm going to cheat a bit with my list.

1) Polytone - the demos sound great and I know it will be my new favourite synth
2) RV-7000 - sounds pretty darn good after all these years
3) NN-XT - I use it a lot
4) Audio Track - it's fun to record real instruments
5) Audiomatic Retro Transformer - mostly for the tape setting

2. thor has replaced subtractor as my main workhorse. Mainly because of it's utility, and because I can't live without the ladder filters.
3. grain is just amazing
4. the echo the echo the echo the echo the echo the echo .....
5. beat map, because it's quick to come up with semi-generic patterns, that can be modified further. = more time for crafting rhythms

I had to buy all the REs I ever wanted to start to appreciate the simplicity, the efficiency and the power of the classic devices again. I love everything that came bundled with the first few versions of Reason and like all the newer PH/RS stuff and most of the third party rack extensions I have. Even if Reason had only the devices in the following list, I would still be happy with it.

I use those the most out of everything, I go to the Softube so often for my dynamics and Selig too for vocals and sometimes instruments too. I prefer the original FET to the Softube V2 update but both are good, the original is simply the best 1176 plugin ever made *to me*, just my opinion. I use Pro Q non stop but I don't like the workflow and lack of a permanent analog style button layout for all bands on screen, so I am trying to find an alternative that is just as powerful but with more analog workflow and believe it or not, the closest thing is Synapse GEQ for Reason so I may start using the Reason plugin as an insert in Pro Tools just to use the EQ, seriously. It's the only one I can find where all knobs are permanently on screen like a desk and has auto gain and solo and steep cut filter options, I can't find *anything* in the AAX/DSP world that does it.

D16 Lush 2 is my current favourite synth, so versatile and just a beast. Note, best service currently have it for $79 and that's insane for what's on offer, that's cheaper than a lot of inferior synth plugins (imo).

I used Albino for so many years and was thrilled when Rob brought it back and with Apple silicon even. It's an old Linplug (defunct dev) plugin that is just gorgeous for pads and with low CPU. Very low CPU. In fact, I would say the entire Rob Papen explorer bundle is great, bar maybe the undercooked EQ. Punch 2 took a bit of learning but now I use it for almost everything when I need drum synthesis sounds, except for the BD where I use D16 Punchbox or Vengeance Metrum.

There's tons of stuff I rely on. 5 is impossibly hard to narrow it to.

For example the Fuse Audio VC-118 is the best DBX plugin I have ever heard, the snap is incredible, and it's cheap too.

Then there's stuff like TB Pro Audio ABLM, a flawless plugin that allows you to monitor any plugin(s) at the same audio source volume so you are never fooled by something being "louder", and is for those plugins that don't have auto gain compensation (which is unfortunately most of them). Ian Shepherd's perception is the same thing but at 3x the cost, and the TB Pro Audio plugin is just stellar. I bought it in 2018, then that's when I fell ill and stopped music, and since coming back to it this year I have relied on it more than any other plugin. So I guess should be in my top 5 also.
Then there's ReDrum, which is so easy to use, that if I want to work with samples to sequence drums rather than synth sources, I use that. Or often I use that in a combination with Punch 2.

My favourite drum plugin of all time, ever, that I would use for both synth and samples and that I knew every intricacy of, was Arturia Spark 2, and I am devastated it's discontinued and will never have an Apple Silicon version:(
But Punch 2 is pretty darn good.
But nothing will beat Spark's sequencer for me, it had that real analog workflow vibe.

I think a really good topic would be to list ONE plugin that we use the most out of every category. Would that be interesting?
