Question about Delta MIDI Computer

I'm looking to "replace" a functionality I can easily build in Bitwig:
- I've a long note as an input
- I want Delta to split it into e.g. 16ths and for each of them randomize:
* probability that the note will play
* offset of the pitch up & down, ideally with control of how far away and how often
* the length of the note
* the velocity
I'm 99% sure it can, but not 100%

Can. I would start with the arpeggiator in front of the delta, then using seq modules followed by their respective chance/transpose modules depending on what your intention is.

Hmm. Thanks, but that's a bummer. It was the main thing I was planning to use it for. Perhaps I can make QNG do it instead, so I'd save $35PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023Can. You still need the delta, you already have the arpeggiator player with reason, I don’t get it

Here's a patch that does most of what you want. The one thing you *can't* do in Delta is manipulate gate times. The developer chose to leave that function out and instead provided it in a separate Player called AutoLatch.
In this patch, I'm chopping the incoming note into 16ths. The Delta modules I've used are Delay, Chance Switch, Transpose Random and Offset Velocity Random.
I hold down a note. Delta passes it thru (upper row) but also delays it by 1/16th, 2/16ths and 3/16ths. Each of the four resulting notes then passes through a Bernoulli gate (the Chance Switches, which I've given odds of 5: for On). From there, each note is randomly transposed (I set a range of -5 semitones to +7 semitones). Then on to a random velocity offset (I've set a range of -60 to +30). Then the notes are merged at the output.
The output runs into AutoLatch which randomly gates each incoming note to four predetermined lengths - 1/32nd, 1/16th triplet, 1/16th, and 1/8th triplet. No matter how long I hold down the original note, the final outcome is short notes.

Regarding the transpose. You indicated you wanted control over how much (which I've done) and how often (which I have not). How often the note gets transposed could be accomplished with an extra layer of Chance Switches.

Nice patch! I prefer starting with sequential modules and from there determine which step gets affected and how. I prefer having more control and not to leave it up to chance so much, especially over the whole chain.
Antic, why don’t you want to use the arp player before the delta?

That's what I would do too. DualArp takes care of the splitting. Then Delta handles the playback probability, transpose randomize/probability and velocity randomize. Still need AutoLatch to randomize gate length.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023

You could use NoteEcho too.

I always enjoy seeing this RE get attention. Sometimes I feel like it could have its own subforum because of how versatile it is.
I'm still hopeful that one day Static Cling updates it with a taller GUI. Currently it is 5U. For comparison, that is the same height as Dual Arp. Chord Sequencer is 7U and AMS is 8U. Are there any 9U players? Even a 1U increase would help it feel a little less cramped IMO. If anything can justify taking up a little more of my screen real estate, it would be this

Oh, my stupid brain can take any irrational thing and turn it into a reason to not write musicPhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑20 Nov 2023Antic, why don’t you want to use the arp player before the delta?
