Hi,
I'm playing an external sound source into reason and the sound is playing back twice with a couple of milliseconds between each doubled sound.
I've tried changing the monitoring option in preferences but it doesn't change anything.
Any ideas on how to stop this doubling effect?
Thanks.

Are you using a Mic or a line input??Alandalton wrote: ↑19 Nov 2023Hi,

Can you sketch the input method you r using???
It's a bit impossible to figure it out without a clear view of your setup...

Ok.
When I press play on the akai force, it plays through reason but the sound is doubled.
I've attached the back of the rack.
I can stop the doubling by turning down the master level in the mixer in Reason, but then I can't hear any thing from Reason playing.
What I'm trying to do is play stuff on the Force through Reason while Reason's synths and rex's are playing at the same time.
So, the sound from the Force is playing itself and also being monitored through Reason, causing the doubling.
I have an akai force playing into my audio interface which I have going into my pc.When I press play on the akai force, it plays through reason but the sound is doubled.

Was going to say the same thing, seems there is some “direct monitoring” going on if you still hear the input when you bring down the master fader. Could also be something you adjust on the hardware itself, with a button or knob on the front panel.

Yes, this is it.
I can hear the Force through the monitors and when I run it through Reason, the second sound comes out of the monitors.
I wonder if it's possible to have it running through Reason and not coming out of Reason through the mponitors?
Yes: Go into Reason's Audio Preferences and set monitoring mode to External.Alandalton wrote: ↑21 Nov 2023I wonder if it's possible to have it running through Reason and not coming out of Reason through the mponitors?
Just remember that you won't be able to hear any of Reason's effects on your monitoring signal in this mode, which may or may not be what you want.
