hello,
@plaamook: thanks for the advice / reading order
i, too, like reading a real book so i think i'll print out the pages
and do a 3 hole punch with 'brads' to bind said books (like a screenplay)
cheers,
j

This book is changing the way I think and mix and even arrange sections of music. I also have a subscription to Future Music magazine. Good stuff!

I wish I could handle audio books but I can’t. It’s like lectures. Why I didn’t make it through uni. My mind wanders off and starts working things out. I can’t control it.
W reading I can stop and think easier.

Sometimes when I can't sleep, I'll put on an audiobook. Works like a charm
Who’s using the royal plural now baby? 🧂
I just fin Contact by Carl Sagan.
The film was great, better pace, but the book is absolutely worth the effort. It’s so well considered and full of information…it’s one of the best hard sci-fi books I’ve ever read. It goes way deeper into the maths and concepts than the film.
Though I enjoyed the ride of the film more.

I really like Carl Sagan - massive stoner, named Olympus Mons, was talking about climate change in the late 70s. Seems like a genuinely good person as far as I can tell. I was obsessed with Cosmos when it screened here when i was about 12 or so, rewatched it again a few years back and it kinda still holds up. Has some great synth stuff on thd soundtrack, I think Vangelis.plaamook wrote: ↑12 May 2023I just fin Contact by Carl Sagan.

The film is o e of the best sci-fi films ever.
That’s why I decided to read it.
It’s obvs way more in depth than the film but I can imagine an amalgamation. Screen play.
Hey ho.

I loved Blood Meridian when I read it. So bleak and intense though, when I tried to revisit it in audiobook format I couldn’t bear it!
I just finished ‘Artist of the floating world’ by Kasuo Ishigaro. Beautifully written story set in post ww2 Japan about an artist coming to terms with his life lived in Imperial, militaristic Japan in the context of a new emerging democracy.
