So many good memories. I was on Fruity Loops in the late 90s and I had a FastTrackerII background, so for me at the time FL was the non plus ultra. I was aware of ReBirth and I loved its sound but I could not stand the old-school 303-ish sequencer. But when Reason hit the market, good god, i was blown away so hard that the shadow of me is still printed on the wall in my parents' house from the day i fired up Reason for the first time. Tried almost all ather DAWs at least once, but no one can compare to the sense of possibility right a click away of Reason. I do not think of myself as a fanboy, Reason is still the best out there, even with its flaws I am 100% aware of.
Well not exactly Reason but I found this channel the other day showcasing a load of old Rebirth tracks:

Me too, though I was a long term Cubase user (actually started with Pro-24!) but Reason just made so much sense as far as virtual instrument hosting was concerned. And to have your session saved and restored so easily (after working with outboard gear for so long) - what a dream!Quarmat wrote: ↑15 Mar 2023So many good memories. Any PC which can still run Windows XP (possibly in a VM) or Windows 7 (with some tweaks).

It has been a legal download back then when the Rebirthmuseum page was still up. And I'm sure that this Rebirth.iso is still floating around the torrents of the web somewhere.
EDIT: Some quick search also shows that it can still be run on Windows10 and is pretty easy to find the instruction on how to do it on the internet.

I have a very old version of ReBirth but it doesn't work on Windows 10. However, quite a few years ago I bought ReBirth from the Apple App Store for my iPad.. and it lives there permanently now.
