Or does this codec work in Mackie mode ?

Edit : works with Mackie mode. And devices like subtractor haven't been mapped. But the codec works so that's the important thing, I'll create my own maps as per my preference.

Edit 2 : putting xtouchmini in Mackie mode : remove USB cable from xtouchmini,Press and hold bottom left button(labelled MC), connect cable while holding MC button. Controller will flash a few times. And then the MC mode LED on the top right will light up and controller will stop flashing.
Now release the MC button.

Do the same procedure again for getting out of MC mode.
Keeping this info here just in case.

........

Thanks a ton for the codec friend.

Well, i tried using Reason standalone with this remote script, and although it does work ok, i gave up and went back to my usual workflow of using RRP rather than reason standalone.
Unfortunately reason lacks a gui based utility to generate custom remote maps.
And then there are tons of devices to write maps for.
It just isn't feasible at all.
Also the way different user might want to configure their controller would be different.
For example you might want the dry/wet knob on a reverb unit to be knob number 1, i might want it to be knob 8...that creates more problems.

I just use MC Mode with a Combinator, save, and return to the same state I left the controls in. If I want to control Europa, Thor, Obsession etc I prefer to simply add the controls myself, it is no fuss and quick

Ok I'll have to see how that works out.

I think this is a very good idea, to use a master default combinator template rather than scripting every possible instrument/re for the purpose.

Yeah, I also would rather not go into something so tedious and end up making no music at all! ;)

What are your experiences today? Is this controller still worth buying?

The price doubled (or more) after COVID, but it's still the cheapest controller with encoders.

Nothing has changed on the Behringer side of things as far as I'm aware. All works fine in Reason, too. Not sure if it was included in the latest update to 'supported midi keyboards and control surfaces' as the list has not been updated but apparently a number of control surfaces have?!
Still use mine near daily. Love the ease of use with Mackie mode. led encoders at this price is a no brainer if one cannot afford the better options at a higher price.

Hello everyone,
I also bought an X-touch mini. I'm using a computer with Windows 11, Reason 12. I finally got communication working with Reason. After analyzing the remotemap and codec files, I would like to thank Gulli Johansen for his great work. I have to admit that the controller has incredible possibilities thanks to the layers. This gives you 64 rotary controllers (with 7 backlight options) and 64 backlit buttons, 8 faders and 2 frm buttons. and 8 buttons for controlling the Reason control panel (PLAY, REW, REC, etc.) Yes, as was said, the controller is also programmed with a Master section and Mix, but to be honest, if I wanted to control the mix, I would probably buy a bigger device than the X- touch mini and even then it is better to sit down at the computer and control it with a mouse. I'm not a programmer, but I've already started mapping and I want to map mainly synthesizers, because when I sit down at the keyboard, it's faster for me to control the parameters on the x-touch, for example, because I don't have many controllers on my Korg microStation. So I only have one so far, but I wanted to share the experience that the Behringer with Reason works very well, as Hans_47 already wrote here, it must be switched to MC mode. Place the files in Reason's storage - the remote folder, see gullum at the beginning of the thread. The REC button just didn't work for me - I fixed the Lua codec and in Remotemap I mapped the frm A and frm B buttons as Prew and last Preset, so even if your device is not mapped, you can switch the presets to X-touch. I took the liberty of doing this because Gulli only used these buttons in the Master section and they still work there as well. I don't speak English very well, so I'm using a translator here, I hope he translated it correctly. Anyway, don't worry guys, this little gadget will surprise you. Thanks again gullum, because without you, the X-touch mini with Reason will be useless to me. Have a nice day.

I'm starting to add synthesizers. I added to the file from gullium.
Dr.REX Loop Player
Redrum Drum Computer
NN-XT Advanced Sampler
NN19 Digital Sampler
SubTractor Analog Synthesizer
Malstrom Graintable Synthesizer
BV512 Digital Vocoder
Combo B3 Tonewheels Organ
THOR Polysonic Synthesizer

I expanded the Combinator to 16 Rotarry and 16 Button.
And I've reworked the aster section as much as possible to mix 8 channels and switch to another 8 channels, but only the basics are there, like panorama, individual channel volume and master volume. Work with the .zip file exactly as instructed by gullium above. I recommend to save the codec as well, as I have redesigned it a bit compared to gullium - I used the Layer buttons in all mappings to overlap patches, which is a shame to lose.
Since all of these tools are mapping intensive, I was thinking how to make it as user friendly as possible, but I still had to use the X touch extensions. For example:
Using Rottary buttons, which are buttons below the rotary encoders. Pressing this button will open another layer of mapping. E.g. in Dr Rex_Map Master Fader Mod Wheel
Map Rotary Button 5 Section=Osc
Map Rotary Button 2 Section=Main
Map Rotary Button 3 Section=Main1
Map Rotary Button 4 Section=Main2
Map Rotary Button 1 Run

I recommend in Reason - Options menu - Remote Override Edit Mod - then just click on the synth in the return, just like when you want to connect it to midi and you'll see yellow circles where it's mapped with X-Touch. Then when you press some Rotttary Button on the X-Touch, the wheels will change depending on the mapping.
For example, Redrun is mapped as a mixing console first - the first five Rottary Buttons - Level/ Solo function. If you press these buttons, the next menu will expand directly to the current Redrun slot. When you want to return to the Mix, press Rottary 6 to return to the Mix. When you want the next 5 channels, press Rottary 8, and press Rottary 8 again to return to channels 1-5. Press Rotary Button 7 to enter step editing mode, the keys flash according to the beat as Redrum plays.

B3 Tonewheels - Rottary buttons 1-3 to toggle the individual button sections and Rottary b.4 to switch to the individual Draw Bar settings. But the mapping has to be done for each Draw Bar preset separately, so you have to switch between the individual Rottary presets b. 8 and the button below it at the same time, i.e. button 8. If you have everything correct, you can see when you change the Draw Bar by turning any Rottary on the screen. If the preset is not synchronized with the Draw Bars, nothing moves. Here I've adjusted the Led lighting around the Rottars in the codec that they rotate against, so update your codec as well. And one more note, Because there are 9 Draw Bars, I had to use the Master Fader as the 9 Draw Bar, which I normally avoid and assign the Mod Wheel function to, because it doesn't show the current position like the Led Lighting Rottaryes do, and I have this function as a joystick on my master keyboard, which is not convenient for me.

If you are interested, I will also explain the other machines or remake them. And I will map further, I still have a lot in stock.

Wow, very good work, thank you. Do I remove gullum's original maps/codecs.. to be honest I rarely use them anyhow as I have a Nektar but I am interested in your update for sure.

Hey gullum and arpegiator1,
Thank you very much for the effort to create the codec and the maps. Everything works wonderfully with my x-touch mini

Since last time, I've expanded RemoteMap to include the players I have. Full list of devices in Zip file. I may add help in the future, as some maps use multiple layers and switching between them, and it's a shame not to know all the options.

And I'm adding another 40 Effects maps that I have. And I still have a lot of Instruments and Utilities to go. So Merry Christmas everyone, it will probably be after the new year. For the Sweeper and Quartet effects I used the new effect switching. For Quartet, you press the first Rottary button for the first effect, i.e. for the chorus, several times until the first effect is red - active. If you want to edit the second, i.e. BBD, you press the second Rottary until the red jumps to BBD. Do the same with the third, or any other. With Sweeper it's similar, only on the first button is the main menu and only from the second button onwards are the effects, which again you can control by pressing several times. I recommend to first press in Reason Menu - Options - Remote Override Edit mode (with Operation_Manual. Page 599) and tap on Effect, there you will see the buttons mapped in that layer and when you press Some rottary buton the yellow characters will move to other buttons.

The list is at the Remote file, so I don't bother the Forum here....Thanks
Currently 175 maps in total

So this mapping is really cool. You have done a great job here. I have 2 Mini's so just used OctoRex with them and the mapping is nice to use with many options and layers.

Now I've just tried REdrum and pressing Rotary Button 7 doesn't enter Step Edit Mode for me but Rotary Button 8 does and it looks great on two Mini's. So with 1 Mini only 8 steps can be viewed until I press RB 8 again to view the next 8 steps but with 2 Mini's I see all 16.. This is excellent.

Plus, with my Impact lx49+.. I got a lot of devices covered now.. So thank you very much

With ReDrum, the mode under Rottary Button 7 is mixer mode, meaning you have 8+8 channels , but only level and pan, When I map all my furnishings, I'm thinking of mapping the devices you request. I can actually download the trial version , map it and delete it in peace and it will help you. But for now, I have many synthesizers in front of me...

And another 20 Utilities including Mixer 14:2.The list is in the file. And now I just need to map my instruments, but I have more of them, so it will take longer.

Indeed, thanks for your work and starting this. Having the ReDrum sequencer now play out across the bottom row of buttons and able to input with the top row is excellent.
Great Work all programmers, very much appreciated.
