Do you guys have a fav API-2500 Plug-in?
Tempted to move away from waves given I have to pay for an update just to have Hi-res - Dry/Wet Knobs. I'm aware you can work around this using RE Morfin XF Crossfader (https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... rossfader/) or just use Parallel..
Cheers all.

RE-2a without a doubt. Channel and bus compressors too. Maybe even the FET. I’m a creature of habit I guess, since these are the same compressors I started with almost 40 years ago, surprise surprise!
Beyond that, there’s pretty much everything else…
[oh yea, lest I forget – I use Selig Leveler quite a bit, technically also a compressor]

Two from Klanghelm. MJUC for massaging levels RMS-style. DC8C3 for precision work. Both sound great, and the four different models in MJUC are worth exploring.

this drives me nuts... I wasn't using Reason when it was available and now Reason doesn't have an La-2a, probably the most broadly used compressor there is?

I wrote tickets to Reason support regarding this to no avail and even suggested several RE makers fill up the space but nothing...

Do you happen to have a Cakewalk account from when they were still around?

Yeah add another RE-2A to the tally!

I'm curious why bandlab doesn't just re-release the RE. Is the product deleted? Or do they just need to login and reactivate the shop page?

I asked them around two years ago and they told me to expect a lot of cool free legacy VST plugins in the near future. Hmm

Softube FET, and it's been on sale in the RE shop last year I believe, at $100. It's actually a far superior alternative regardless of age, no wonder Mr. Selig here prefers it.

I have not used it but the analog obsession version is meant to be good.

I'm a comp-01 weirdo....but lately... I've been using the khs transient shaper, instead.

I mainly use compressors to even out the signal and shape the sound.

It's modified but it's also on sale for $9 just now.

Their 1178 is a brilliant comp but you'll want to wait on a sale I think.

Thanks Mr Figg, Popey and Overtherainbow πŸ€—

Now we need an API alternative πŸ€” have UAD begun to sell individual plugins to non UAD hardware users? I think they have a API 2500?

Purple Audio MC 77
Elysia mpressor
SPL Iron Mastering Compressor

Hardly ever use Waves Api 2500 but it can be useful, for typical Api Bus compression I use Townhouse Buss Compressor.

did they not do that? I thought they had plans to rerelease it, or maybe I’m just imagining seeing that somewhere? I thought it was just for the Cakewalk DAW though?

Cakewalk made RE-2A free for a limited time a bit before the acquisition and then it was removed from the shop. The CA-2A is also not available separately, although I remember them having plans to release it. I guess it might be included with Cakewalk? Not sure if it's built-in or as a Windows only VST.
