Transcendent 2000 RE
Gosh, this synth sounds fantastic i.m.h.o. It does indeed have a lot of character.
It can be used for so many different things ... not just as a synth for "keys"
I tend to focus on dark / low frequencies sounds
I purchased it today after 20 minutes of trying different things. All the knobs are very responsive (to the sound).
Feels like a real anologue synth.
I have the Roland Cloud subscription and the Arturia Collection, but I love the simplicity of this synth and what it can do.
I tend towards 'raw', industrial and techno sounds
I'll play with it more (for a few days) and write back if I discover anything else interesting.
It's not meant to compete with 'beautiful sounding' synths like (some of) those from U-he or other Poly synths
again: very analogue
Good work JPS !
What a bargin/value !

Wasn't sure if it was my computer or what was going on. RT users are usually very keen to spot such anomalies. I'm surprised nobody spotted it. RT users are losing their edge!JiggeryPokery wrote: ↑17 May 2022Honestly surprised it took quite this long for this to be discovered. I left clues! I did! I did!
Nice Easter egg! I really love this synth. It's great! Very happy to be picking it up during MM. Thanks for the end of the world sale, Matt.
Yes, as you now see, I also hid several in Combinators, but saved them folded .
There are a few more kits than have been seen so far. Including an ultra-rare set.
Part of the fun is not knowing what you'll get in the next new songfile. "Oh wow, I love that kit!". "Oh, no, that that set... ffs...* "
_______
*probably the "Ammo" knobs: no, I don't know either
Fanboi til the end (of the world sale)?
Totally agree! I'm loving this synth too. It sounds great (pronounced grit)
It's great to have Matt making REs again! <3
for me, it sometimes can take a while to find a "sweet spot"
sometimes 90% of my search time has been spent "not finding something that resonates with me, that I can use" ...
but, once I find a good sound and have that growl and grit (mostly for low end work: bass, perc and textures) -- there's nothing like it.
I continue to explore
I'll (of course) save my presets as future starting points (to be more efficient in my future sound searches)
: )

Maybe you need to exchange the knobs for a better experience?iwaiwa wrote: ↑20 May 2022for me, it sometimes can take a while to find a "sweet spot"

Amusingly enough, I sat on this device for a while (years) before I thought of the randomised knob kit idea, because that "original" knob set—I forget the exact Alcoknob part number, but I had to order a load off eBay when I restored mine to replace a couple of missing/broken ones—for that exact reason: it was just too hard to read the dot position in Reason 8... 9... 10... 11... .
However, I do believe that issue was solved with the ability to zoom in, hence why I went back and finished it off once R12 had come out and mitigated that issue. And at that point I had the idea to do the extra knobs anyway, so it became somewhat moot. But on Reason 10/11, yeah, I concede it is a bit of a bugger if you get that "default" kit and you want to adjust the parameters (otherwise it makes no difference which set is loaded!). But you can always delete device and ctrl-z a few times to reinitialise it until you hit a sweet one. You can't do that on the original machine: the knob markers are about as difficult to see in real life!
No-one's found the rare ones yet!
I get the joke with the manual’s missing pages and all, but dang I’m having some trouble wrapping my head around this beast.
JigPo fanboism done turned around and bit me on the ass.
OK, found this

Damn! What a rare missed opportunity.
(oh and, you not got much on today?! The diligence involved to make nearly every rotation unique...!)
It just didn't look right putting them all at 12:00. So I was 5 minutes late picking my daughter up from dance practice. I stand by my decision.JiggeryPokery wrote: ↑16 Nov 2022
