BUMP!

got 2 pairs of brass knuckles (bulletproof glass resin stuff) to get through metal detectors
for any knuckleheads who get aggressive on the subway here in NYC
turns out that knuckles are illegal here in NY with fines and jail time (depending on the mood of the judge)
so that sucks
comments also stated how destructive knuckles can be to someone's face / jaw / skull / etc
one guy said he just took the knuckles out of his pocket and the other guy just walked away
comments on a youtube video said to get a large rock climbing carribeaner and wrap the inside part with tennis racket tape
comments also stated to carry a roll of quarters in your pocket

Old friend of mine from Yorkshire...he lost all his teeth in either a fight or an accident (dent...) can't recall...but he had this trick. If anyone ever got twitchy with him he'd step back and remove his false teeth in preparation for combat. He said without fail, everyone walks away at that point.

My fall back plan in the event that people don't react favourable to my Cro-Magnon brow ridge (which does in fact double as something like a set of knuckle dusters incidentally) is to just take off all my clothes.
I've not tested this yet but my reasoning is...I figure most violent twats aren't very imaginative and don't really want trouble as such. Anyone displaying behaviour that's way off their scale of normal just isn't worth it.
