When the hammer drops, you'll hear about it pronto.
"We regret to inform you that Reason standalone is no longer under development. We're excited to announce that, going forward, Reason will be sold only as a VST3/AU/AAX plugin called RRP for use in your favourite DAW."

So I guess everybody who has commented so far is not in the beta...
If you are, then you know. If you're not, joining is easy. If you don't want to join, you'll just have to wait and see.
Things aren't quiet on the beta side. Hope that helps!

It's not a secret or a mystery what they're up to. It's M1, Vst3 compatibility plus bug fixes.
I suppose there will be a few paid for RE's released towards the end of the R12 cycle too.

lol
I'm definitely not paying £199 for a license or £20 for subscription just to access a beta,
I went with a suite license for Live 11 and that new entry level Mac Studio sure has me interested
Quiet? Check social media. They're actually very active. They just posted this 3 days ago
Ugh, dont we have enough in the regular world to be depressed about?huggermugger wrote: ↑14 Mar 2022When the hammer drops, you'll hear about it pronto.

Well I don't know how they're handling acceptance at the moment, but I do know others not on R12 were accepted before. So technically it is a requirement because you need a R12 license for full access, but otherwise you can run the beta in demo mode. I guess I'm also assuming that most people concerned with updates to R12 are the ones on R12...

I saw a biskuwi video the other day when he was using grain and a couple of his latest videos included reason devices. I was wondering if biskuwi may perhaps become an ambassador like underdog has. Personally I would be happy to see this as enjoy his content.
As for rs being quiet I do not own 12 or the beta but as a reason user I just hope they are quietly working on the new m1,vst3 additions and ironing out all the issues some have had with 12.
There are not posting the roadmap updates as regular as everyone imaged but Reasons Studios is not as quite as you think. Reason Beta is getting regular updates and fixes, suggesting that update 2.2.5 is coming soon, in a recent interview Ernst Nathorst-Böös mentioned a new RE coming this march (prop. a new effect that was also mentioned in a road map update), Reason Studios is quite active on social media and they posted several new job offers in the last couple of months. I assume that all the technical stuff mentioned in the first roadmap updates just takes them way longer than they expected, however I also would appreciate an update and a more fixed time table for updates from them, maybe every quarter would be reasonable timeframe to actually report import updates.
Quiet is good - it means they're busy
