Most forum members prolly don't care, anyway. ;)
It turns out there are geeks interested in stuff other than music production.

ha ha, thanks for sharing. I'm a huge English (language) nerd.

Saying we can't have fun with the English language is like saying I can't run this synth through an audio spitter and plug it through every distortion RE I own. Unconscionable.

Looking for some ReasonTalkers who know more than me.

"prolly"? there's no such word. it's "an" Re by the way. Yes I am the grammar police. Lol!
Starting the new year off right by issuing citations for grammatical violations, I see. Very good.

So, the "a/an" argument can be decided depending upon what the person says when they read "RE" as there are a few valid choices. It boils down to the way someone is pronouncing the acronym RE: Are they saying ""are E," "Rack Extension," or "Re" (as in "reply", not as in "redrum")? Granted, the third one is weird, but someone could very well be reading "Rack Extension" in their mind when they see it abbreviated to "RE"; in such cases, the "a" would be appropriate. "An" would only be required for the first example, as it is preceding a vowel sound. That is the important take away here - the vowel sound, not the actual letter.

Most forum members prolly don't care, anyway. ;)
If you put RE or Re then it's, "are ee" so an RE. Lol!

I've always been in the "ree" camp. It's how I've always said it. We have separate threads about it.

I can't go around all this time saying ReCycle, Reason, Redrum, Record, Rewire, etc. and then have a clever plugin format name and not say, "These are my favorite Reeeees!" 😂 Even the official icon and logo is presented as "Re".

For the record, I think RS has come out saying that they refer to them as "are ee" in the office, but the guy who created the gif was wrong too, so yeah...haha

Good point about the official logo gif consisting of a big R and little e.
Brings me to the next question: How do you all pronounce the word "gif"? Is it a soft g like go or a hard g like gel? I say it with the soft g because I'm not a psychotic monster.

Hard G obviously. jiff is too furry for my taste. (Also the G in gif stands for graphic and not like the soft g in giraffe and thus a soft g would just be WRONG!)

Yes, that was some elaborate trolling there. (I'm totally aware of this, but I like most people disagree with him).
