“ It’s worth mentioning that, for most users Reason 12 works perfectly,”
Is this assumed because sales are greater than the amount of people reporting bugs? Or do you reckon there’s people writing in to RS studios saying “I don’t know why everyone is complaining. Works great for me.”?
I doubt it’s the latter.

It’s hard to believe most people are not experiencing bugs but I guess that just the kind of roll out companies do these days.
I just hope they’re dealing s the bugs that aren’t just hi res bugs. I couldn’t say where one begins and the other ends really but the twitchy graphics are nothing next to crashing mimic with long (and sometimes not so long) samples or crashing reason just by reordering seq lanes.
Pretty happy they’re kicking the browser can down the road. Couldn’t see the point in prioritising that in the first place. But never mind.

This sounds pretty grim. I would say 12 standalone isn't giving me any Reason-crashing bugs per se, but I'm definitely seeing weird GUI glitches particularly in the sequencer, and I find the rack slightly more clunky than before HD (not a very good description I know).plaamook wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021It’s hard to believe most people are not experiencing bugs but I guess that just the kind of roll out companies do these days.

My main gripe is that I find the RRP will crash upon opening in Reaper semi-regularly (I've stopped using it for now) and that just put me off using it which is a shame as i love the idea of the rack in my other DAWs. Of well. Hopefully this will all be a distant memory by this time next year.

Incidentally, we just released a new update that includes a new version of Mimic: https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason ... ease-notesplaamook wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021It’s hard to believe most people are not experiencing bugs but I guess that just the kind of roll out companies do these days.

Agreed, it's a welcome change. I also find it hard to argue with the changes made to the roadmap, hard but sensible decisions.
Edit: No mention of workflow improvements though, which was "under investigation" in the last update

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Pun intended.

Keep at it. It's hard to get a balanced view from reading Reddit/RT but most of us are keen to see improvements and the product not only survive but also grow; and are thankful for your team's effortsMattiasHG wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021Incidentally, we just released a new update that includes a new version of Mimic: https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason ... ease-notesplaamook wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021It’s hard to believe most people are not experiencing bugs but I guess that just the kind of roll out companies do these days.

Personally I can't wait for stability to return so I don't have to avoid browsing uhe vst patches whilst playing a song. I'm still a r12 DAW only user ( hard to tell if I'm a dying breed thought).

VST3 support for the DAW proper is pushed back to around the same time, so I'm just as disappointed.
Yeah, now that I find downright terrifying.

Getting performance issues sorted out is WAY more of a priority for the near future. I upgraded to 12 but am sticking with using 10 until they get some more updates pushed through to solve the performance problems.EnochLight wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021Yeah, now that I find downright terrifying.![]()

Really hoping they update the plan again and realize workflow improvements need to be a priority as well.

Well obviously - I didn't mean bug fixing/stability didn't need to take top priority. I just feel the DAW proper getting kicked down the road yet again isn't a good thing.

I"m not in panic mode yet. I'd be a hell of a lot more worried if they weren't so open about what's going on, and would rather see that it's been pushed off rather than the hearing all the pants-pissers assume that all is gloom and doom with RS.

Scrapping the smart browser hu? Well, tbh I knew they were going to screw perpetual license holders with their fake roadmap. I should have known that the things they promised for 12 weren't coming
♂️. Oh well, hopefully they don't scrap M1 support too. That's the main reason I upgraded. Just needed that future hardware support so I can get off this train.

A tagging system would be such a wonderful option, especially now with the new Combinator and Reason more focused than ever becoming a very powerful VST for other DAWs.

This is so simple yet so powerful. I have no idea why it's almost 2022 and we *STILL* don't have tagging in Reason's browser. it's maddening.

MIDI Out ? That will be on the 16th roadmap in 2041, along with MIDI multichannel, I guess.
"The current browser is not stupid, it is already relatively smart"... Yeah, except that it still is unable to properly index folders. Call that smart...
I hope their new devices will be free for existing users, that's the least they could give us - if not *owe* us.

They'll be "free" if you subscribe to Reason+, otherwise you'll need to buy them if you're on a perpetual license.

Well ya never know. Beat Map was included with 11.2. Even though that was before R+, anything could happen...EnochLight wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021They'll be "free" if you subscribe to Reason+, otherwise you'll need to buy them if you're on a perpetual license.

I still can't believe he doesn't even mention any plans to improve the sequencer... So sad.

I've even found sequencer, thank me later
No, seriously, I don't think it makes sense anymore, because 100 percent can use the devices and only 50 percent want to use the sequencer.
Besides, they can't sell anything at the sequencer.
