Thinking of getting a looper.

Want to talk about music hardware or software that doesn't include Reason?

So my Am 60s original Jazzmaster is finally on its way. My Fender Hotrod Deluxe amp has been sitting lonely and unused for quite some time now as I usually just play directly into Reason and use the myriad of fx plugins I’ve accumulated. I reckon the new guitar will change that.
Anyway…thinking of getting a looper pedal. Anybody?

I was looking at the Boss RC-500 but it looks like they are releasing a new Looper in December. (RC-600). Might be worth waiting to see how much it costs.

Bit too expensive. I just spent €2000 on a guitar haha :)
Under €300 is where I'm aiming. Only going to be using it at home for fun.

I Had a Boss RC-30 and stupidly sold it, thinking back it had so many uses, it has inputs for guitar and vocal with separate volume making it a great front end for Vox an guitar, the inputs are as clear as bell although its not great with headphones as it does not have a dedicated headphone out.
Having the 2 pedals is great and the a few drum beats is handy, the fact you can fade out loops is great and also quantise is handy.
But the cherry on the cake is you can store all you backin tracks /songs on it too but be aware the looping length will be set to you track /song size for those slots.
I would buy it bak if I was out playing live.
Hope this is some help. Joe

Yeah it is. Thankyou. From what I can make out the Rc-30 is more similar to the RC-500 than it is to the Rc-10r. The latter is more focused in rhythms hence the R. The 500 has three switches and looks as if it’s a lot easier to control and less functions to memorize.

The main point of getting the looper is to get me using my amp again. Also the Pacer can be used to control the looper :):):).

hello,

okay, i understand

would be cool to hear your kids plug into the pacer and the looper
and do a family jam
there is a youtube channel of a dad doing cover tunes with his kids
his son plays the drums, another son is on guitar, the daughter sings
and these kids are like in middle school
they kill it every time: the beatles, the stones, the who...

it would've been neat to hear the sitar through a loop pedal

cheers,

hello,

yeah, i know that you sent the sitar back because of the frets
still would've been nice to hear it, though
but if it didn't sound nice, then f!@@#$#@#@%@! it
it's not worth it

do you have a real porridge recipe (from that other thread)
or was that just a metaphor or analogy or something

i've got several guyanese cornmeal porridge recipes saved
would be interesting to see a recipe from your place

cheers,

Thanks! Name seems on point.

Edit: Also, impossible artist name to search. Kind of like Reason.

Bernhoft seems to have figured out a workflow:

I think you should get one.

Pretty impressive.
I’m going to.
It’s in the basket but I’m wondering if it’ll go on offer on BF.

hello,

found this article with 10 people using looping techniques
(contains videos (as do the comments)

https://flypaper.soundfly.com/discovery ... es-melody/

also, ed sheeran is a one man band

this guy is stupidcrazyfun and some of his tracks have dirty lyrics
his channel is worth doing a deep dive
someone here on RT posted a while back (don't know who, when, or where)

the neat thing is that he does it real time where you get a pretty goodgood look at what he's doing

cheers and eat well,
