What have you been listening to?
Some amazing talent from my country of residence, Vietnam. Try to keep your eyes fixed on the guitar player's amazing work, gentlemen.
I takes two D cells, it sounds like HELL!
If you ain't hip to the rare Housequake, shut up already.
Damn.
Damn.

On my radar at the moment, although I haven't had time to listen to it yet, is the new Tresor 30 compilation. 4 1/2 hours of brutal electro goodness.
I'm going to have to go with Sinead O'Connor's version of this song. She really made it her own, as you can tell, it doesn't sound much like the original, and that is (one element) that makes a great cover. In my opinion, it was done so well, it basically became Sinead's song, the same way "Hurt" became Johnny's song. Cornell's version is great, too, I mean, who doesn't love his voice? But his version really feels like he's covering O'Connor's version; it doesn't feel like he made it his own, when I listen to his version, I hear Sinead. And who doesn't love Prince? Dude was amazing! Sadly, those two latter talents are no longer with us. Sad. I love those guys.
Revisiting an old favorite of mine now.... The Hassles! <3
Ueah if you can get through the video Johnny Cash's version of Hurt without crying, or at least needing a hug from your mum, you probably need to re examine your humanity. Still the original is also outstanding. I read somewhere that Trent Reznor said one of the worst experiences of his life was being taken to a strip bar by his roadies and Hurt was the song the girls were dancing to, if you can imagine that.

I guess there's not much to do while watching chili peppers grow, other than sit around and listen to some music.... and evidently also watch some guitar porn.
I'm reminded of some comedian's bit... can't remember who it was now. But the bit goes like this:rorystorm wrote: ↑10 Nov 2021Ueah if you can get through the video Johnny Cash's version of Hurt without crying, or at least needing a hug from your mum, you probably need to re examine your humanity. Sitting in a strip club, looking around and noticing all the sadness and despair in their eyes. But then the dancer finally came out, and things really livened up.
Love this oldie:
I wonder if this is the first time a song using a synth hit #1 on the U.S. Country music charts?

Happens to a lot of them unfortunately.
Sometimes they only have so much to give musically or they let fame and money dictate the path. A rare 10% just keep pulling their genius from somewhere and go for years on a high.
I can think of bands that went way, way wronger than Sonic Youth did
They might not have made another Sister or Daydream Nation, but they never stopped releasing interesting, experimental, envelope-pushing music. Washing Machine, A Thousand Leaves and The Eternal are all solid releases, and there's some amazing stuff in the SYR series
Yeah, I was listening to jaccuse ted Hughes last night, which id never heard before and the 2nd track on it is really nice. But to be honest I really only listen to the first 3 albums and after that I fi d them a bit dull. I know I'm alone with this but I'm not a fan of Daydream Nation. Killer lead track, but the rest bores me. Confusion Is Sex on the other hand blows my mind 30 years after I first bought it. Oh but Goo is pretty great too, and I quite like Goodbye 20th Century. Other than that it's just a long haul of slowly watching them turning into Phish.
In my mind, at least!

I've been listening to Chvurches quite a bit over the last few months.
New Album Screen Violence is really good. Stand-out tracks are Nightmares, How not to Drown (guest appearance from Robert Smith of the Cure), and Good Girls.
The lead singer Lauren's vocals cut through the electronic proceedings with ease and there are some massive musical hookworms in most tracks!
Earlier material is really great too. Going to see them live in Manchester next year

Conan The Barbarian OST by Basil Poledouris.
Pretty much the most manly shit anyone's ever composed.
Tracks 1 2 3 would had had Wagner pissing down his leg. Orff can piss off too. This is the end of all that sort of thing.
I've posted the Spotify link because the Version on Youtube is very poorly conducted.
