One of the things I'd like to use the Combinator for is for 'converting' some VSTs to be accessible directly from the rack. The first one I have done is for the TAL-Vocoder
TAL-Vocoder Combi patch
I think maybe it would be a good idea to have a single thread for this topic (Combinator patches of VSTs)?
What other VSTs do you think would be good candidates?

Ya I think there should be subsub forums
Example;
Combinator's for stock Reason Devices
Combinators for R+ users (maybe)
Combinator's for VSTs
Combinator's for Gear (synths, midi Controllers)
The free VSTs are good candidates.
Xfer OTT
Vahallah Echo etc.

This is in my opinion one of the most powerful workflow enhancements on Reason 12.
I think the one subforum is enough. I was only thinking on having some focused topics where possible.
Thanks for the VST suggestions!

Looks like it's the -only- workflow enhancement on R12.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021This is in my opinion one of the most powerful workflow enhancements on Reason 12.

The fast browser is a big workflow enhancement. Zoom is a workflow enhancement for me as well for edge case reasons, and even little things within the Combi are workflow enhancement like right clicking on device parameter to set to Combi rotary but I guess that's included in combinator 2, but still!huggermugger wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021Looks like it's the -only- workflow enhancement on R12.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021This is in my opinion one of the most powerful workflow enhancements on Reason 12.
Mimic is a new workflow and it is fast as f, does that count as workflow enhancement?
Hands down!PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021... Combi are workflow enhancement like right clicking on device parameter to set to Combi rotary ...
Reason12, Win10
Here is the patch! Let me know if it works!
TAL-Vocoder Combi patch
I couldn't come up with a good unique name, so I just tagged it with the idea that others might share their iterations of it here.
I'll export and share the layers for the backdrop later.

I'm not 100% sure. I think the programming carries over? I think I had begun building this with an earlier version of TAL-Vocoder and then updated it to the latest and it still worked? I don't remember exactly when I updated. My first experience creating and sharing VSTs in Combinators was with the Supersaw ReFill using the OG Combi, and we never heard any reports of problems there. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you.
I think it depends on whether the company changes the actual VST name. Most don't so it should be mostly fine but seem to include the version number in the name. For example, I think Spire does that so I have some example Ableton Live sets that I downloaded where I have a more recent version of the VST in the project but they will not load that VST.
I also get a bit frustrated with stuff like Ozone and Ampire. I have two sets of Ozone installed and Ampire 3, 4 and 5 to keep compatibility with older projects. I usually mix every project down to stems before I put them down but I have a few outliers where I haven't. It's mostly fine until I change the PC.

Thats a great idea! Well done. Now if someone could knock up some skins for the entire Arturia suite please!
Did a few in the beta. I'm by no means a graphic designer, but it was quite fun I must say. Valhalla should probably get custom text labels but otherwise I'm reasonably happy with the results.

Nice!
If you want to be over-achievers, it would be cool if you guys saved all the plugin's patches in .cmb format. I realize it could potentially be a huge job, but maybe it would be more reasonable for plugins with fewer patches.
I almost did this for Tal-Vocoder, but found I didn't really like the included patches anyways and it's not as slick having a different .cmb for every patch based on a device (whether it's a wrapped VST or an original creation).
One of the feature requests made by many has been snapshot saving. I think that would make it more appealing to save patches per combi.
As it is now, unless you as a user maintain all of the individual .cmb patches in separate folders, then you can't simply browse patches (next/last) for a combi creation without loading whatever else comes alphabetically.
Also, each individual .cmb patch is saved with the backdrop graphics, which uses up unnecessary disk space and there's the load time (even if it's minimal). Jumping from one .cmb to another, even if it used the same backdrop and devices, it will load it from scratch just the same. I'd be happy to save patches if there is a snapshot feature.

I know they're payed but SOUNDTOYS PLEASE
In particular - Micro Shift, Primal Tap, Little Alter Boy, Little Plate and Radiator
For free VSTs - Analog Obsession and Chow Tape

Also, some VSTs have multiple pages of controls, so wrapping them up in a Combinator allows for direct access to all controls.
