Any use for MacBook Pro Touch Bar in Reason?

My boss thought it was time for me to get a new Mac and so I got a brand new MB Pro today . After a bit of trouble getting my Reason license transferred (which was fixed by Props within an hour – thanks guys!!) I'm asking myself how I can benefit from the amazing Touch Bar now. Unfortunately Reason doesn't support it by default, but I'm pretty sure, that there are some third-party apps, that could turn the Touch Bar into a what-so-ever controller for Reason! Any ideas???
Why do you get to install Reason on your company laptop?JoshuaPhilgarlic wrote: ↑05 Apr 2018My boss thought it was time for me to get a new Mac and so I got a brand new MB Pro today . Also, it's the first time I hear someone use "awesome" with regards to the Touch Bar...
i have barely used the touchbar - or the mac with the touchbar, even - with Reason.
Im hoping all those 1U REs would just show up - especially KiloHearts, QuadElec or Jiggery Pokery stuff:
- so I can buy their FX RE kit once and for all.
I hope this question gets answered!

I think the word they used was "amazing" and not "awesome". Maybe there is a difference between the words we are not understanding?!? LOL!
Not Reason but here's someone finding use for it in Ableton Live

Well, besides my work as a film mixer, I do a lot of database programming for our company (in fact it covers most of the administration stuff by now), and so I got this Mac for my personal amusement and for software development .
I found an app named BetterTouchTool which is pretty neat. It helps me with one of my biggest issues with Reason: I can't remember the function keys , so I created some icons...

Awesome! That’s a pretty cool useJoshuaPhilgarlic wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018That's pretty cool! Using mostly the Onscreen-Keyboard I was always missing Pitch- and Mod-Wheels. Now I got them on the TouchBar !

YES! Midi Touch Bar actually works with reason controlling knobs and sliders etc with a fully configurable touchbar.

This is actually a very good idea! I reckon that it wouldn't be too much work to create some remote codecs and a touchbar app that reacts to reason like automap...
I totally would give this a shot if:
a) i had some hardware to test (2012 Macbook still hasn't died... touches wood)
b) Props would let me access the remote sdk again....
Thanks for this! I was hoping someone had made some basic DAW integration.DAFUNKIEST wrote: ↑11 Sep 2018YES! Midi Touch Bar actually works with reason controlling knobs and sliders etc with a fully configurable touchbar.

Are there any other DAWs apart from Logic that natively support the Touch Bar?
That looks great! Any chance you could share the BTT config?JoshuaPhilgarlic wrote: ↑09 Apr 2018I found an app named BetterTouchTool which is pretty neat. It helps me with one of my biggest issues with Reason: I can't remember the function keys , so I created some icons...

how did you install this?DAFUNKIEST wrote: ↑11 Sep 2018YES! Midi Touch Bar actually works with reason controlling knobs and sliders etc with a fully configurable touchbar.

i only see insteuctions for ableton, bitwig, and cubase.
i got an m1 and am going INSANE with having to hold the fn key to bring up the f5/f6/f7 shorcuts for mixer/rack/sequencer and want dedicated "buttons" for them so bad
I know this doesn't answer your question, but you can "lock" the touchbar to display the F keys if you want (in the keyboard settings).WeLoveYouToo wrote: ↑06 Oct 2021how did you install this?DAFUNKIEST wrote: ↑11 Sep 2018YES! Yeah I’m sort of hoping they’ll drop that thing by the time I need/have money for a new Mac. I wish it was at least optional.
BTT on the other hand. Thats great stuff. But I figure what you can do w the track pad programming must make the Touch Bar obsolete with it, no?
I’m looking forward to using btt on the new larger track pads.

Try this
You can just write keyboard shortcuts for the os, per app, in system pref-keyboard for any command in a drop down.WeLoveYouToo wrote: ↑06 Oct 2021how did you install this?DAFUNKIEST wrote: ↑11 Sep 2018YES! So I’ve got the fn commands on my own short cuts. Simple.
Or better touch tool and you can assign them to corners etc on a track pad.
For Mac there are quite a few work arounds with that.

those macbooks are not so strong so better used for that purpose if you are single
This works in R12? Do you have to buy it every 2 years, per the link instructions?turn2on wrote: ↑25 Sep 2020Oh.. You touch old theme)))

Okay, so that's gotta be the best usage for the touch bar I've ever seen. I'd actually use that, if I had a MacBook with a touch bar..turn2on wrote: ↑25 Sep 2020Oh.. You touch old theme)))
