Is Reason going to be fine under the newly available OS or should I wait till some future optimisation?

Personally, I would absolutely wait, but for more reasons than whether or not Reason DAW will be fine or not. Historically the first 6-12 months of a new version of Windows has "issues" that need sussing out, and while the levels at which its bugginess has varied greatly over the years, it just seems sensible to sit the first 6-12 months out until the maintenance updates and fixes appear. Especially in a production environment. And I'd recommend the same for Mac users contemplating jumping onto a brand new version of MacOS.

To be honest, there is very little game changing things coming in Windows 11 that would make me want to jump ship from Win 10 right now. I'm looking forward to how things look in 6-12 months, though.

Run the compatibility checker tool for your PC. That might make the decision for you! TPM - cough, cough

Apparently my Gen 7 i7 processor won't cut it so I'm not gonna be rushing to upgrade.
@pushedbutton on twitter, add me, send me a message, but don't try to sell me stuff cos I'm skint.
Using Reason since version 3 and still never finished a song.

For me it is "Obviously wait until you cannot avoid it any more." As I really don't want the new "features" and my system works fine.

Given that Win 11 is only available on new devices at the moment you'll just have to wait. Upgrades for Win 10 users with a pc that meets the hardware requirements won't start to be available for at least another 3 months.

It’s a no-brainier especially for all those Reason users that have been burnt upgrading to R12

Learn by your mistakes & Wait-Wait-Wait!

Exactly why I just recently upgraded to Windows 10. If it's not broken... why try to fix it? Everything* is running well for me under Windows 10, so I won't be upgrading until I absolutely have to.

*Everything except for Reason 12, that is. :(

I'm an IT guy, have been so for 25 years, and I've always been a late adopter as long as everything is working how I like it.

Another vote for wait, it's just an O/S update- it wont add much but it can take a lot away!

New icons and new bugs. Not worth it.

Also will wait it out for a good year or so.

I like the improvements in wsl2, but nothing that I can't live without.

Windows 10 will be supported until at least 2025 I think. If I need a new machine before then, then sure, I'll go Win 11, otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it... Be a similar while before I jump into Reason 12, same reason... Reason 11 ain't broke (for me)...

I only switched from 98 to 2000 only when SP3 was out. :D

Yeah ... I decided to just go for it.

Working smooth.

And WSL2 is pretty awesome. There is an uber annoying bug, but I've got a good enough workaround.

I have an i7 920 which was the cats tits back in the day and I'm still rocking WIN 7 but it is becoming more and more apparent that I'm going to have to upgrade my hardware as well as my software.
I hate doing all that crap.

Somebody claims this at this address: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answer ... 0k-pr.html

I have installed it without problem in an Intel Core i5-6200U, for the moment it works without problem. You can use the tool to generate an installation media and modify the windows registry to skip the requirements.

There are workarounds to forcing Windows 11 to install on older unsupported hardware, however; Microsoft will likely *NOT* send updates and upgrades to those machines (including security fixes), so not sure I'd go that route.

The LAST thing I would do is start my journey into a new OS with a registry hack. I've seen nothing in Win11 that makes me want it, and nothing about Win10 that makes me in a hurry to leave it behind. All in good time. When I need a new PC, that's the time for Win11.

The old saying, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" seems to apply here.

And I’m pretty sure most of us stayed in Windows 7 for as long as we could.

Yes, exactly. I think I've said it before, but I would still be using XP, if I could. Had to upgrade to 7 for Reason 7. And had to upgrade to 10 for Reason 12.
