OPS7 uses a freeform FM layout like Algoritm or FM8, but with accurate modelling of the nuances of the Yamaha electronics surrounding the FM architecture in those early synths. Loads DX7 patches.
Looks like a nice FM soft synth option.

New DX7 emulation from Plogue
Dual-Architecture so you can load two DX7 patches, which is freaking great. Also works as a DX7 programmer/librarian. Loading syx banks is quick and accessible, and loading 2 different patches is easy . GUI is resizable. And of course, it sounds like a DX7. Not a fan of the factory presets.

Bought DX7 and TX816 in the 80s, replaced DX7 by DX7mkIIFD in 1989 and bought a TG77 in addition.
I still use all except the vintage DX7.
Loading 2 patches might make it possible replacing DX7mkII / TX802,- but depends on controller features and voice architecture.
DX7mkII has special pitch bend modes, so when playing an interval, you can bend just only the lower note similar to what a guitar player can do.
And there´s also a DX7mkII exclusive "voice detune" feature which cannot be found in any other of the Yamaha FM series synths.
It´s different from detuning patches against each other.
I´ll dig deeper into the OPS7 manual to have a look for what it really does.
For sure it´s a very promising emulation !

I mean the factory presets on the OPS7 - they're not the Dx7 presets but rather a custom set. Kind of blah...
The plug-in is out, just the demo / trial version not yet.
D.
It's pretty close. Good job.
