it’s not even in high def! no one’s going to the theater to see a new Matrix if it’s not even in high definition! 😂

Thanks for the reminder; I just watched it. I hope it's better than the trailer.

I just don't see how they could, no matter how good the film is, justify this resurrection.

It will never have the impact of the original.

And most of the ideas (even the hidden ones) have become pretty mainstream.

All they can really do is just try their best to not mess it up and give us a movie to enjoy.

Now I come to think of it, ...

If this movie doesn't cause a mass existential crisis by the time the credits roll it's gonna be the most anti-climactic movie of all time.

Where is Laurence Fishburne? Hopefully he's still in the movie.

True, there have been so many theories about the franchise that it would be really hard to surprise the audience...I hope that it's at least better than the previous sequels...the trailer was kind of unexpected...neo seeing a psychiatrist, taking pills thinking he's gone crazy...that was not what I was expecting, also no green color...I'm a little sad about Lawrence Fishburne not being there.

I won't even torrent that junk.
Trailer wasn't even very good and I tend to enjoy them more than films often enough these days.
So many good stories out there and they're going to try this one again? Like all the other sequels didn't suck enough i guess.
Oh no wait....they must have made money though.

Sadness.

Adding for the thread:
The trilogy, like it or not, was built with an end. I followed the rabbit hole until the end and got (I think?) the message, beyond the fight scenes. Just like the original Star Wars movies, and many others, that memory will stay with me. Complete.

I saw the original in the cinema (Ritzy, Brixton) like 3 times? More? I can't remember. Film blew my head off.
I never made it completely through any of the sequels.

Maybe it's not complete. Maybe there is a yellow pill that takes you to the next Matrix up. You know, the one that simulates The Matrix that simulates reality.

But, actually, yeah. I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie and find the two sequels decent enough to watch when they are repeated on TV. Beyond that - not really bothered.

Yep. Same director, same (almost) cast. Better GPUs for the FX. No way this new chapter and story can be that *Terminator Dark Fate* bad ;)

Just saw the film...i liked it...nice movie...but they should put a full stop to it now. It's done...no more sequels please. All the juice has been sucked out of the franchise.

I'd write more about what I like and what i didn't, but then I'd rather not give you guys any spoilers.

Well for me it started as a fresh take on the matrix universe...but about half an hour into the film it went back to being the same matrix movie. As if the directors wanted to make a different film but we're pressured into bringing the elements of the previous movies back...
I would have liked it more had it taken a completely different route...it could have been a film about a mental patient... without having gone back to the previous films(the audience expects the same elements of the franchise though, they want the green color, they want 360 bullet time shots...etc)

Well yeah, maybe he recovers and then programs a new reality for the unplugged humans to reside in where they're free and happy...where they can freely log on and log off whenever they wish...and that program takes care of the residents. And which is free from interference by the agents.
Something like that...i dunno I'm just saying...could've taken the story in a new direction... could've created a new reality where new stories could be told from this new reality in next films...stories of different characters in the new universe, rather and neo, Trinity and mopheus etc.
