hello,

here is something that will give greeks a run for their money

it is just background music, so i muted it and put on timecop1983 song

the way the eggplant is cut is very nifty visually and is a greatway to cook those ingredients
i would roast / braise them in the oven slowly with more vegetables
i'm not much of a frying with a lot of oil person

it's fun to watch recipe videos with a different soundtrack
and see if you can get the ingredients / instructions correct

cheers and eat well,

j

I can't stop eating biscuits and chocolate atm. Earlier on this afternoon I had a Big Maryland Cookie, 2 gingernut biscuits and a 2 finger honeycomb KitKat. I just had a White Kinder Buenos and only had my tea an hour before that.

Just bought a load of eggplants. Gonna make capanatina on Sunday.
Tomorrow I gotta pick up a...think farm house chicken is how you translate pollo campero...and a load of molluscs and shrimp to make a paella for my neighbours birthday after diving. Should be a fairly epic weekend.

It's hard to find natural non-alkalized (bitter) cocoa powder these days. Everybody sells some sugared mixture, god knows what it's made of. I found a couple of brands, but they don't appear often in the local stores where I live.

I bought a cold press juicer earlier this year and that’s a highlight of my diet. I’m also adding peppers to my juices and smoothies.

hello,

@splangie:
nice dinner: steak / tomatoes / red onions? / potatoes or zuchini? / hot sauce
and what is in the flask?

i'm 6'2 around 190 (i need to put new batteries in the scale)

@peppereaterpeter: i use a lot of dried chilis and rehydrate them for a lot of dishes
i grew up in new mexico but didn't like hatch green chile at the time
now i have alot of it frozen in small bags
green chile and roasted garlic

i found this website 'twistedfood' that has hundreds of interesting takes on recipes
no words, unless you see a person in the thumbnail

https://www.youtube.com/c/TwistedFood/videos

so i mute the food video sound and have playing the fm reggae station provided by miyaru

https://www.1.fm/station/reggae

there is one commercial like every 15 minutes or so (it's not distracting)

cheers and eat well,

Bum cuddle is a fitting name then!

Just one? That’s quite a result.

Though maybe we need a separate thread to discuss our bowel movements...

hello,

i grew up in albuquerque until 16
we would ski at sandia, santafe, taos

i've been in brooklyn for the last 20 years

regarding chickpeas: making lots of hummus

i thought about mixing crushed / diced dates into a greek pastelli
(maybe not such a great idea now)

found this cooking channel which is surreal

cooking like this would definitely be a weigh to lose weight
severe portion control

cheers and eat well,

I guess it is!

Let's just say things moved fast through me
I read afterwards that eating around a 3rd of a whole date is recommended on a first time, I also learnt that dates are mother natures natural laxative, enough said really.

Hah!
My family are all Italian immigrants so I grew up back and forth between Brooklyn and New Jersey.
Wacky world.

I’m in southern Spain now. It’s basically NM by the sea. Pretty nice place.

Shout out to Taos - skied there years ago and still remember it to this day - Compares to my old home base of Alta in many ways…
Interesting hearing your part of Spain reminds you of NM, which is one of my favorites places. Maybe one day a trip to Spain will be possible!

hello,

we also would go down to white sands national monument (outside of las cruces / carlsbad caverns (home of the bats))
my buddy had a skateboard without trucks so we could snowboard down the massive piles of white sand

i went to a bullfight in barcelona
one of the bullfighters tried to be really macho and kneeled on one knee as the bull was charging down the chute
the matador didn't get up in time and the bull f!@#$%##!@!! his shit up
another matador was called in to finish off the bull

got bull meat to take home and make a stew with veggies

i also got a bull horn
i put it in the freezer so i could get the 'meat' out later
that didn't go so well
i tried jabbing it a lot with a pocket knife
ended up cutting my finger
and i don't do well with the sight of blood
so i stumbled across the roadway
and hobbled up the stairs to the hostel
the owner smiled at my condition nicely
sat me down in a chair and gave me several shots of whiskey
all was much better

the pictures i got from the bull fight were amazing

and the sangria...wowza

tried to go to pamplona to see the running of the bulls
but i didn't speak enough spanish

ernest hemingway 'the sun also rises' a beautiful story about bullfighting

hello,

here is a pasta alfredo with chicken and broccoli dish
it is done by the same lady who did the meatloaf recipe on page 3 of this thread

the recipe is somewhat decent
her personality is on point
and her sense of humor is superquick and funnyfunny

hello,

just made this banana ketchup recipe
not this exact one
i didn't add rum or raisins or beets

the video is interesting because it talks about how
the filipino lady used the abundance of bananas instead of having to import tomatoes

this guy's recipe seems decadent
i doubt the lady was using rum in food to feed pow's (i don't know)

i do like the addition of beets
it's like a beet banana soup
i'd like to also add ripe plantains

listening to timecop1983

making a cheesesteak with onions and provolone for dinner
half with onions, banana ketchup, mushrooms, and peppers

breakfast will be shakshouka with banana ketchup

cheers and eat well,

hello,

found this recipe and (channel)
again, great soundtracks

i tried slowing down the music to 75%
but it didn't sound good
maybe with a better stretch algorhythm or something

and an efficient way to make green chile enchiladas
i have 2 more small bags of hatch green chile
i can make flour tortillas

oh, and chile rellenos

this one is with the family and the editing is on point
here in brooklyn, i can find a decent selection of fresh chile peppers

somewhat late to cincodemayo

would be very neat to grow them on the balcony

getting ready to try growing mushrooms

cheers and eat well,

j

and if you listen closely, there is some cowbell
