Can a Reason license be sold to another user?
Can a Reason license be sold to another user? How should I do it, if possible?
And, what price would be fair for my license, which is updated to the latest, and has a Suite and many more REs?
Thank you.

I don't think you can transfer RE's to another account best thing to do would be contacting support for information about the process then go from there.
Ok, thank you... So, could I just sell my Reason 11 Suite license... Or would it currently no longer be relevant (If the buyer cannot use the res that were part of the suite)?
UPDATE: transferring R11 Suite does also transfer all associated R11 Suite RE licenses.
Apparently not:

Actually there was a update reply from one of the RS Team on this forum after my original question to them , you can sell the suite licence with the rack extentions attached but any RE purchased away from Suite is not transferable , Hopefully this info will help

FYI: I have sold a Reason 11 Suite License and all the RE's that go with the Suite were transferred without any issues.
Could i ask you in what price you sold it?

£290, I got £280 after PayPal fee's.
Note that was before Reason 12 was announced, I would say the price might drop a bit now as people will look at your price + upgrade...
When selling, label the point that if the buyer upgrades to Reason 12, they will get to KEEP ALL the Suite RE's.
Also remember you a more than likely selling to new customer who might not know how things work... I pointed things like Reason Studios manage the transfer etc.
As others have said you can't sell anything outside of the Suite...
I've never really understood why that is. Seems strange (and miserly!) to allow suite REs but not others.Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021As others have said you can't sell anything outside of the Suite...
Stunning news (to me).Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021FYI: I have sold a Reason 11 Suite License and all the RE's that go with the Suite were transferred without any issues.

Did you sell the license, or the account?Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021FYI: I have sold a Reason 11 Suite License and all the RE's that go with the Suite were transferred without any issues.

It's against the terms to sell an account and could get it banned/disabled is my understandingfullforce wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021Did you sell the license, or the account?Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021FYI: I have sold a Reason 11 Suite License and all the RE's that go with the Suite were transferred without any issues.

The suite is a "Reason license" and that is why, yeah I understand where you are coming from.DaveyG wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021I've never really understood why that is. Overall It would effect the eco system of RE's, maybe this is something they might open up, depends what they had in their original terms and conditions.

License... I had a spare one....fullforce wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021Did you sell the license, or the account?Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑12 Jul 2021FYI: I have sold a Reason 11 Suite License and all the RE's that go with the Suite were transferred without any issues.
So obviously the account didn't get sold the license was
I would assume the statement answered the question in and of itself
shouldn't take much of a brain to work that out, a simple deduction for anyone to conclude Watson
So what you're saying is that accounts never get sold. Yeah that's clever.

You started the stupid question and get all heated when someone talks sensible about it "Impressive behaviour "

I'm not sure what makes it clever?
I'm not in a position to say that accounts haven't been sold, only RS would be in a position to confirm that.
What I said was very simple,
accounts shouldn't be brought or sold as it's against the terms set out by RS,
however license transfer are acceptable and done in conjunction with RS but individual RE's are not transferable only licences and as suite includes RE's they appear to be transferred along with the license which you would assume as they are included within the licence.
But any other RE's cannot be resold or transferred they remain associated to the account from which they were purchased.
Is this helpful or at least more clearly explained?
Yes, but not allowing license transfers also affects the ecosystem. It increases purchasing involvement and can have a negative impact on attachment rates.Carly(Poohbear) wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021The suite is a "Reason license" and that is why, yeah I understand where you are coming from.

At the same time, allowing resales can reduce the perceived cost of future purchases, and stimulate future purchasing.
As an example, when you sell an audio interface for $50, all of a sudden that brand new interface for $150 all of a sudden looks a lot like $100. If, on the other hand, you couldn't do that, you would have to fork out the full $150 and might decide to just stick with what you have, or just give up that music thing and start knitting .
