How many javascript trackers does the Reason Store Page needs ?
Do your self a favor and check it out for your self. Use your browser tools (F12) and see what javascript is being loaded in the shop.
I only kept google analytics, at least I know the platform.
I really thought my browser was some under some heavy adware attack.

I've blocked this ones:

Code: Select all

127.0.0.1 6246661.collect.igodigital.com
127.0.0.1 ad4m.at
127.0.0.1 bat.bing.com

127.0.0.1 script.tapfiliate.com
127.0.0.1 snap.licdn.com
127.0.0.1 sp.analytics.yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 static.hotjar.com
127.0.0.1 yimg.com

I think, the companies should give up all that tracking crap without explicit permission or even better, the user must manually enable and request it, that he wants to be tracked.

I might be wrong, but is tracking or at least cookie tracking without explicit permission illegal in EU?

To be honest, I was surprised by the yandex.ru tracking, that one triggered me to inspect. I understand that Yandex is a big player in Russia. The question is what is my tracking info is doing in Russia lol. I understand the need for analytical data, but... delivering it to at least 6 tracker systems ?

With so much tracking information, I think by now they have modeled a 3D Avatar from my person, and he is wondering alone in Russia, in the cold, looking at window shops... Poor virtual me.

Yandex does identity and behavioral tracking and provides the info to the site owners. Not to Russia, we can live without it here.
Maybe Google is not enough, because Yandex info is richer on their side of the globe?

a russian company owned by facebook. A corporation owned by a corporation but registered as an LLC. Who would ever doubt their intentions? :DD It's a combo so clean and integrous, you can dress your wounds with it.

This is not Yandex, but Face.com

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yandex#Acquisitions

In September 2010, it invested in a $4.3 million financing round by Face.com.[42] The company was acquired by Facebook in 2012.

At some point you'll have clicked through a consent form, giving your explicit permission. Some of these forms are flexible - allowing you to switch off tracking cookies*, for e.g. - and some are not - agree or leave the site, which is obviously no choice at all.
The problem as I see it is that the site you are visiting is handing off its DP obligation by having reviewed and accepted the privacy notices of the service providers they're using. They don't have to go any further than that (though I suspect that behaviour isn't entirely in-keeping with the applicable laws), for example, by testing the privacy notice assertions of those services.

* See, for example the cookie settings for Slack, follwoing the link to Join ReasonTalk on Slack.

The whole thing stinks.
