Slow loading of vsts when opening reason daw

MacBook Pro 13 retina 2015 snd a 1tb sdd external hard drive

I’ve loaded the following applications on the mac
Native instruments konkakt 5/6 konkakt komplete
IK multimedia sample tank 4
Arturia collection 8
Arturia lab

All the sounds are loaded on the external hard drive
The latest addition is the sample tank 4 with sampletankb3/4 sounds syntonik sounds snd a couple of sound packs

When I load reason 11 it takes minutjes to load snd now
Not listing native instruments on the drop down if instruments vsts.

Any ideas of how I should approach this to remedy the speed of opening reason and getting all instruments appearing ??

When I open reason preferences snd add the vsts pathways I find it difficult to locate the right folders on Mac

Kontakt sometimes has issues with loading large instruments from APFS formatted drives. Moving my samples to an HFS+ formatted drive sped up the load times drastically, in some cases reducing 60+ seconds to 4 seconds.

My external sdd never experienced issues before it’s since loading the sampltank 4 sounds it’s taking longer and longer
