Reason 11.3.9 Release Notes
I mean, of course it’s welcome, but to suggest they’re “not ignoring” core functionality writ large because they had to do something to fix a bug is kind of laughable.EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021Fair enough, but the point is: the core DAW functions certainly aren't being ignored.diminished wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021
that's a change from the old behavior due to the bug I reported.
when I now doubleclick on a note in the piano roll visualization and try to move the notes with ctrl+arrow, it moves the whole clip... I guess that new feature is their workaround.
I do think they are likely to address some (hopefully lots) of the deficiencies with the core program, but man, this ain’t that.
Well then, I take it all back!EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021I mean... we got a standalone Reason DAW sequencer improvement even!Feature: Shift+doubleclick on note in Edit mode selects that note + all following notes until end of clip
Seeing the magnitude of this new feature, I'm pretty sure they must've hired a dedicated dev team & an external consultant to oversee and manage the research, concept, development, testing & deployment!

Let's revisit this conversation when 12 drops.guitfnky wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021I mean, of course it’s welcome, but to suggest they’re “not ignoring” core functionality writ large because they had to do something to fix a bug is kind of laughable.

Also, I was actually being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the DAW feature comment earlier. In a laundry list of bug fixes, it was funny to see it listed as a feature.
Indeed - I'm sure they subcontracted Cockos, Inc over the weekend!

I am sorry to say...the memory leak issue is NOT fixed.
I've tested R11.x before the new update, and the memory kept increasing higher and higher even though I've deleted the sample-based RE's.
I've installed this latest new update, delated cache in the TEMP folder, restarted the computer, and then gave Reason another same kind of test. With the Activity Monitor's memory on display, unfortunately it is still the same memory leak issue. How disappointing.
I have a very powerful computer. Right from the start of a new session, Reason's GUI is sluggish. And with this memory leak issue, and as the session gets intense, Reason slows down to a grounding halt. The graphics won't even move.
My system's info:
iMac Pro (2017)
2.3 GHz 18-Core Intel Xeon W
256 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
adeon Pro Vega 64X 16 G

please don't confuse bug fixes with features! that's not what people mean when they speak about core features or functions.. R11 broke something that worked in R10 - months later, they offer a workaround for something that once was working and now isn't anymore.EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021Fair enough, but the point is: the core DAW functions certainly aren't being ignored.diminished wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021

for the record, yeah, I'm glad they fixed these bugs. bug fixing isn't "improving the software", it's fixing oversights and errors on their end to get the product into the state it was supposed to be a while ago.

ASIO4ALL, which never worked with this mixer for me, now does. So, something has happened under the bonnet, probably an artefact of a bug fix.
At least I can use the thing now. Was getting a bit angsty for an hour or so.

Can select a DX output to playback to one of the outputs. But when I try the Zedi10 ASIO driver it won't play audio.
But it will record.
Rebooting did nothing.
Suggestions welcome.
This is great, I was used to lasso all the notes instead. Its useful for transposing selected notes.EnochLight wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021I mean... we got a standalone Reason DAW sequencer improvement even!Feature: Shift+doubleclick on note in Edit mode selects that note + all following notes until end of clip

Are you sure you have tested it fully? I am not having the issue here. Can you explain more of what you are encountering? Are you doing more than just deleting a single device?Hashmoder wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021I am sorry to say...the memory leak issue is NOT fixed.

So the memory still stores a recently deleted device, in case of an undo. If you delete a device and then create another, you should see the change.

I've restarted my computer 3times also...jaeproduced wrote: ↑11 Mar 2021I've download the update 3 times and Reason 11.3.8 keeps opening up running Reason 11.3..8d11...
Is this via the auto-update feature inside Reason and after choosing to "restart and install"?jaeproduced wrote: ↑11 Mar 2021I've restarted my computer 3times also...jaeproduced wrote: ↑11 Mar 2021I've download the update 3 times and Reason 11.3.8 keeps opening up running Reason 11.3..8d11...
If you continue to have trouble, you can try downloading the update from the website: https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason/updates
