It's my favorite day: new synthesizer day! I'm happy to properly introduce Algoritm FM Synthesizer.

We're still pushing stuff live but I wanted to be the first to post. :puf_bigsmile:

I wrote a blog post with a bit of the thinking behind Algoritm here: https://www.reasonstudios.com/blog/the- ... f-algoritm

I really hope you'll like it as much as we do! You can grab Algoritm from the shop: https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... /algoritm/ , and if you're on Reason+ it's already in Companion and ready to download.

Pew pew pew! Well done RS team!

EDIT: Watching the video now, the Effects section looks very familiar but also expanded quite a bit - this is really great to see!

Nice one. Looks like a very flexible and easy to use FM synth 👍

Just the Mod Matrix and no loading of samples or an external audio input are missed chances. But hey, it looks modular and maybe it will be expanded in future 😊

Anybody seen the back?

I’ve been waiting years for an FM synth I can get my head around. You know, RS may have just nailed it. Fingers crossed

As I said elsewhere, I wasn't expecting it to be THAT deep! Well done!!!

However, in the spirit of ReasonTalk whining ;) I'd love to see 2 features added:
  • user wavetables, obviously
  • a 5th type of module, that would send & return the signal through FX section, so that you could modulate one signal with another that went through e.g. a delay or reverb
Oh, and I've created a thread on KvR. Let's make some noise there, shall we?

This new synth looks great and well designed but a bit expensive for my taste, no introductory offer, not available as a reward (would be for forced hand to use Reason +)
I will hurry to test it and if I really like it I will take it later

Back of the Rack is on the shop: https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... /algoritm/
Same as Europa / Grain.

Still though, with that many operators and the routing flexibility I doubt I will actually need more than an additional 4 CV modulation inputs.

Looks awesome, but one question with regards to Ryan's video - the GUI seems really unresponsive (patching is wonky) and weird (he had to drag the mouse through whole screen to get the sliders move 2 centimeters). Hopefully he's demoing it in some internal high-DPI dev tool, rather than in actual Reason? Because it looked much sharper than it will in Reason (I'm at work, so can't play with it right now).

He was indeed working in an internal hi-res dev environment. It felt more important to get nice, crisp graphics so we wouldn't have to update it later. It's WAY smoother in reality.

Just finished the video and i am super excited about this synth. Seems like so much fun to use! Will there be a competition that I can fail to make an entry for?

Probably a needless respect for me posting a release thread :geek:

After playing with the trial for 15 minutes, all I can say is, this is a winner. RS made an FM synth for the rest of us. Congrats, you guys nailed it.

Glad to see an expanded EQ effect, and the resonator is great!

It's a great synth - I'm a big fan of FM synths with more of a subtractive signal flow (or at least the option to go that route), so it's really great to see that in full effect here. It's a wonderfully versatile beasty, and I'm finding it much easier to get decent sounds out of it than pretty much any other FM synth I've used. Lovely.

Great - but a bit sad that the UI goes away from the look, that reason made unique.
However, if now reasonstudios will put the same effort in fixing the sequencer, remote functions & browser in R12, too, everybody is happy :D
