Hi

I can't figure out how to record an instrument as a stereo audio track.
Tried various routings, no luck.

Could someone here help?
I'm a bit of a newbie in Reason

Thanks

Use the rec-source button on the trackinstance in the rack. When highlighted you can see the track as a source in an audiotrack and you can record it as audio.

 I genuinely dislike that answer (especially giving it), but when it’s xyz DAW-101 stuff, I think it’s appropriate. I defend my answer. this time....haha

To be fair, it was quite some time before I found it! Printing to audio wasn't really a part of my workflow until super recently, when I started to appreciate how much more fun/creative working with audio *can* be vs MIDI. Same with Live as well - I get great results just recording the output of RRP straight to an audio file then chucking that into slicer or the max grain thingy, or whatever. Glad the OP was able to find it!

well now I feel like a heel—I completely misunderstood the question. had I been less of a dummy, I wouldn’t have responded with a “RTFM”.

at any rate, I’m glad the OP found the answer!

90% of the cases can be done better by "bounce in place"/"bounce to track".

I think it's perfectly acceptable to point to the manual, it contains some really useful information and tips. It's one of the best I've read, I even have bookmarks in it.

yeah, it’s the best DAW manual I’ve encountered so far, by quite a bit. it’s long, but all the diagrams and pictures make things super clear—more software could use it as a model for how to do documentation right.

Yeah actually the Reason manual is one of the few I go back to every now and then because I almost always find something interesting. Very well put together!
