What have you been listening to?
I recently pulled out a few of my old favorite albums and they still sound as good as they ever did; stood the test of time, for sure.
The Cure - Mixed Up
Alice In Chains - Jar of Flies
Thievery Corporation - Richest Man in Babylon

I fire up YouTube first thing in the morning and play whatever it recommends for me. Somehow I started getting dub techno stuff recommended to me, and some of it is nice and chill (great way to start my day with 4 screaming kids wanting food and lord knows what else). THIS though... this mix fucking POUNDS! Great groovy stuff that I'd probably bug out to on a dance floor, if there still were dance floors...
Fuggin love it

I recently discovered Karen Dalton. Apparently she was pretty active in the 1960s Greenwich Village scene. I like her voice... kind of like Neil Young meets Wayne Coyne.
hello,
thanks for the karen dalton
here is another album which is more 'raw' natural recording
haunting
the youtube comments state to read her biography
not sure if i'm ready yet
reminds me of jj heller (somewhat gospel spiritual)
i forget where i found jj heller (perhaps it was here)
i like the neil young reference to karen dalton
helpless, like a hurricane, harvest moon...
such a good thread here in the kitchen
mahalos,
j

Likewise, thank you for sharing JJ Heller. Never heard of her before, but I'm loving that first song already. Very nice sound, indeed.
Thank's Littlejam & Challism for sharing music by Karen Dalton & JJ Heller, never heard them before, love it.

Here's my contribution for tonight: I discovered James Gang, watching the Serpent series on Netflix;
Their hit song "Funk #49", performed 36 years after the release:

The Serpent was really good, wasn't it? Coincidentally, that was precisely where I heard Karen Dalton for the first time. I think her song comes on at the end of episode 4 or 5 (when they are opening the safe). I was thinking it was the Flaming Lips or maybe Neil Young. The show was set in the 70s, so I knew it was the lips, so I had to google it and discovered Karen Dalton.jappe wrote: ↑09 Apr 2021Thank's Littlejam & Challism for sharing music by Karen Dalton & JJ Heller, never heard them before, love it.

I'm really enjoying JJ Heller, too. She has a very nice voice. Her voice and music kind of reminds me of Olivia Broadfield (lady who wrote "Stay" Reason demo song).
James Gang Funk #49 is a classic rock staple in the USA. It's played on just about every classic rock station across the USA. I guess it didn't make it across the pond, huh? That's a great tune.

I'll keep my ears open when I come to that episode then, good series. [EDIT: 54.00,E5]
Funk#49 probably made it over the pond, but I was more into "twinkle twinkle little star" back then
But I do remember singing along with dad to "in the summertime" by Mungo Jerry. Morphed lyrics, but still
