Here's a dirty and quick pic of my current setup that I sent to a friend today who wanted to know what hardware I was using. I cleaned my room and used some speaker stands to turn my double tiered keyboard stand into a triple:

Some time ago I decided to re-organize my humble home studio and this thread has been a real great inspiration to me; after some planning (after all I'm an architect in real life) I created this concept with sketchup:
Then, with a little diy skills and after a lot of trial and error , this is my custom production and mixing desk in all its glory (thanks to Ikea for lack shelf, kallax and alex elements):
Some details while assembling the monster:
Some further details:
- The whole custom structure is made in mdf with laminated plastic wrap;
- The BCFs are locked to ssl mixer in mackie mode;
- The BCR will control the channel strip (I have to customize the remote map yet, 'cause I'm lazy );
- The Shuttlexpress controls the transport bar.
It was a hell of work in my little spare time, but I'm really happy with the final result!
If you have any further question about the making, connections and so on, feel free to ask; I'd be happy to answer.
Cheers,
Dave

Yeah, I love clean designs ... and hate floating cables! However, thank you for your appreciation!

I've been meaning to ask you about the Minilab - have you got a fully-working codec?
The reason I ask is because I bought a MK2 a couple of months back and just could not get the encoders to work 'endlessly' as they're designed to do - everything else works fine, I can make maps for the encoders and assign them ad-hoc etc, just no 'endless' capability.
I tried cobbling together codecs from the MK1 version along with some code from the OP-1 (on a recommendation) but no luck!
Pleeease tell me yours works!

As of 2021..
The Komplete MK32 and the Ableton Push 2 have taken over the Throne. My Nektar Panorma is taking a break. I'm gonna see how I get on with this set up. I'm loving it so far, with Reason Rack in Ableton and my recent addition last year of Native Instruments Komplete 12 during the sale last summer.
And I've just aquired the Deepmind 12 recently too. Super synth. Would love Behringer to replicate the Subtractor to hardware life, with some of the effects they put into Deepmind. I've dug out the Novation Xstation 25 for some Nostalgia value. Very decent little synth indeed.

Oh hahah - yeah that was some time ago. I have since moved, changed studios, and sold the Juno 106 (though I sort of regret that now). New studio space looks totally different, is about 20% larger, and completely not finished.

Yeah the Juno-106 is one of my synth-wants. Hope you got a good price for it?EnochLight wrote: ↑16 Feb 2021Oh hahah - yeah that was some time ago. I did, actually, though I sold it with the MSQ-100 sequencer that goes with it as well. It needed to have at least 2 voice chips replaced (likely all 6 at some point), the filter chips were starting to act a little wonky, and the battery needed to be de-soldered and replaced. And that was just the "regular" maintenance that it needed. I'm sure the potentiometers on various sliders would fail at some point, as most felt a little grindy.Creativemind wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021Yeah the Juno-106 is one of my synth-wants. Keep in mind, i owned this thing since 1989 (bought it when it was barely a few years old) and kept it stored very carefully. The nature of those synths just warrant a lot of maintenance and upkeep as the decades draw on. I replaced it with a Roland System 8 (it came with the Juno 106 Plugout installed). But now I've got a vintage Roland JX-8P and an Ensoniq SQ1+ and I'm building a "classic synth workstation tower" on one of my studio walls. Would really like that original Juno 106 back!

Wow, quite a synth collection. I'm only just learning about analogue gear, didn't realise there was so much maintainence involved. Didn't know that there was that MSQ sequencer for the 106 too.EnochLight wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021I did, actually, though I sold it with the MSQ-100 sequencer that goes with it as well. The first analogue synth I got was a few months ago, a Behringer MS-1.
I'm just waiting for the components to arrive to complete my Nava 909 v1.0. Can't wait get it finished. I haven't got a clue how to assemble it but it will be taking it slow with all the relevant instructions / schematic printed out and there are some vids online too. It's probably gonna take me a month but do an hour or so a day. Will post a pic of my MS-1 and Nava 909 set up when it's done.
What did you mean by synth tower, rackmount?

Wall mount, actually. I've already got one wall setup with my Roland System 8, Korg Minilogue XD (i've since sold the System 1 in the photo below), a Roland TB3, Roland TR-8, and Roland MX-1:
I'm looking to mount the vintage gear on a perpendicular wall.
