Do McDSP rack extensions (EQ / compressors) really work as they advertise?

Nice. Did you check the harmonic distortion of the compressors when turning the threshold down and upping the ratio and with fast attack and fast release? That will tell us how much they colour the sound.
Never checked it myself, but they must color the sound in fast attack/release, when the attack and release times get comparable to LF wave half period. The response in LF will go down as a result.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021Nice. And this will introduce distortion as well.
EDIT: I just thought, it must be almost imperceptible when the Release Time > 25ms.
It (pluginDoctor) appears to still be available, and at $30 it's not a bad deal. This test made me want the tool more than anything.
https://ddmf.eu/plugindoctor/ <- that's where it's at!
[Edit:] And now I have mine. This is an incredibly functional tool! I'm glad somebody mentioned it!

2.0.1 2.2 1.0 1.0 11 Suite + ________ Love the entire product line!
I just got me that PluginDoctor and checked the ExtremeDynamics compressor with it to see how it would "color" the sound with harmonics. The results are in another thread.
